Top 2 is a better goal. Let’s not be cocky and think that playing Port in Adelaide or Pies in week one is going to be a better result than a home final in week one ffs!

Not cocky, don’t think we are finishing top 2. We almost beat Port playing one decent quarter over there. Don’t want to play Pies here first week of finals.

Honestly anyone who wanted Essendon to lose doesn’t understand how this season could play out. Very poor result for us.

I hear you, but where I’m at is that if we finish top 4 (as we’ll need to to have a genuine chance), then from there, if we’re good enough we’ll win.

We can win this year, no question, but I’m not seeing the team unity we had in 2021, and that Collingwood and Port have.

long way to go though…

Hey peanut ...

Demons were never going to finish top 2, so it's better that the teams pushing for 4th place lose.

Come back to me when you've thought about it ... hahaha

I agree with you Winners. This talk that we're a lock for top 4 is very premature.

Hey Einstein, we could absolutely finish top 2 with our percentage gap. Port winning today makes it much less likely.
If a side like Essendon get out spot in the top 4, we can’t win the flag anyway, so what does it matter?

All will be revealed in the fullness of time.

Port are very ho hum away from the MCG. Would love to get them there in a final.

Butters is playing a complete outside game. 25 disposals for 4 contested possessions and 8 score involvements.

If someone sits on him that's a huge part of their game nullified.

And still, Essendon should have won.

Next time we play Port, if we do, I hope Harmes sits on Butters.

Pity our chances of finishing 2nd have almost been snuffed out but that's on us. That said, if we had to miss out on a home Qualifying final then Essendon losing after the siren is how I'd want it to happen.

So do I. That's why being able to fit Harmes in the midfield over JJ, gives us good options. Leaving Clarry, Trac and Viney to play their game.

If we're good enough, as Richmond were, we'll win it from fourth with a leg in the air.

I'm sorry but Essendon losing after the siren makes my night.

Our ladder position is up to the players and Goodwin and us winning. We can't rely on other teams.

It's a shame Essendon are still in the 8

We’re not playing good footy consistently enough and the gap between our best and worst is gigantic. We are very flaky atm and are currently a fair way off the top 3 performance wise.

Dont worry about top 2, Id be happy finishing the regular season top 4. From there anything goes.

No one in the league and for good reasons have decided to sit on Butters.

Port are in for a rude shock when finals come along and someone decides to sit on him with a firm tag.

We lost the chance of top 2 after the last qtr capitulation last week.

Or the last quarter capitulation against Port.

Yeah Brisbane have been amazing. I loved their loss to Hawthorn a couple of weeks back.

Lots of people easily seduced by a walk in the park win over a soft as butter flakey as a flake chocolate Gold Coast side.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
