It’s either that or our game is now more transparent… 🤷‍♂️😊

The dees must have missed that memo.

For example bb is simultaneously a chance if being selected and having his leg amputated.

I'm guessing Coll applied for an extension given the illness at the club.

Not much point listing the team on a Friday or Saturday if there are lots of changes come Sunday/Monday.

Other than supporter interest it probably doesn't matter much when teams are published.

I can't stand tom Morris.

One, his voice shots me.

Two, he is clueless about football and can't separate gossip with an analysis of the game.

Constantly looking for the controversial take that create noise.

So that knocks out another media optioon- tbe Sunday footy preview or whatever it is called on sen, because it is now co hosted by Morris- in addition to him being on the Saturday crunch time.

Insufferable.

LOl!  They are a guessing game at the best of times!!

The bookies might be a bit more interested but who cares about them...

If we can't get 'em Monday we'll never get 'em.
With half their best players missing a win for us will mean nothing more than the 4pts.
A loss would be humiliating.

And betting

Assuming Adam Tomlinson plays tomorrow - Hibberd for Bowey the change, he has a great opportunity to establish himself with May and Lever and put himself in the frame for an elusive flag.  He has the trial by fire with McKay, Cox/Mihocek then Hawkins/Cameron but if he can weather the storm then he can put MFC and himself in a great position.

100%
If he finds his early 2021 form, it not only gives him a chance to get the flag he is after, it solves many of our problems as it will allow Petty to play forward.
It really makes us a better side if he can fill that second tall role and allow Lever to play third tall interceptor.

The potential outs for Collingwood are frustrating. Only because a win means…

”Demons get the wood over depleted Pies”

(despite us having four of our ‘21 GF players out through injury)

Or in the case of a loss..

”Classy Pies have the tools to dig deep”

I see Schace can’t spell his name is playing at Casey ..  not sure on Goodwin thinking here regarding our fwd line ???

I dont care how they sell it....  how they package it....

The scoreboard will show a win....and a win is 4pts.

That's all we need to concern ourselves with.

Everything else is irrelevant.

4pts to us is 4pts not to them.. Finito

Pies have De Goey, Sidebottom, Howe and possibly Elliott missing.

Who else is missing from them?

Yep and we have Oliver, Petty, Tom Mac, BBB and Bowey.

I would say we have more important players out, our best mid and all 3 experienced key forwards.

J Daicos, Cox, N Daicos and Maynard all have apparently trained this weekend.

So all the speculation about them missing games due to colds/COVID will probably be unfounded.

true… but let’s not forget we’re also missing Oliver, Petty, Bowie and you could add tmac and / or brown to that. yes they’re looking like missing more but we are not full rat power either.

Lipinski is said to be playing - his first game this year at any level so very much lacking match practice.

Mc Stay also said to be playing - hasn't played for two months.

They may not miss this game but that is 8 players that will be missing or not in tip top shape.

It will be seriously depleted of talent, experience and form.  All this must affect their system and fast ball movement.  There should be lots of turnovers by them.

And too much will be left to too few.

When you put it like that, it’s fair to say that Collingwood will never be as gettable all year as they will be tomorrow.

Whether we can take full advantage of it is another matter.

We have not been the best club at beating sides that are supposed to be suffering from adversity

But will they be cherry ripe ?

Guess we'll know tomorrow

😀

Collingwood have been average the last three weeks. They beat Carlton easily on the scoreboard but inaccurate kicking cost Carlton, should have been a lot lot closer. North got within 5 goals or thereabouts and West Coast were only two goals down at one stage in the third quarter. They’re just going along and are tired. I think they’ll drop a few games now, including tomorrow. There are no excuses from us.

Been Bush for a few days. Seems I’ve missed a lot. Clarry is definitely out?
some Pies may be out with illness?! Has that been confirmed?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
