What is going on with Viney? We are playing a man down.

Worst half of footy for the year

worst than v port

overhandballing is horrible

ineffective inside 50

going wide going wide and wide

Best. Ummm Trac and lots of others just going ok.

Viney. Kozzzy. Chin. Do something!!! And Spargo is a negative

What happened to Chandler? Is he being tagged? A shell of his former self, had a great 5-6 rounds to start the year.

Any chance we try and go fast and direct through the corridor?

That involves winning the clearances. So no.

Why does Kozzy seem to be on a rollercoaster every game?.

One spectacular goal, or play. Then 10 minutes of zero impact or involvement.

💯

It's a scrap. Grundy's two shot should be goals. Similarly, Harmes.

Midfield is ineffective with Viney being tagged, Tracc quiet that quarter.

The secondary midfield not really cutting it.

Story of our season

Same at Casey

Boring team to watch save for 2021 finals series

This is a soft effort from us.

Viney and Lever really need to lift.

Jv no disposals last quarter.  A grand two touches for a half.

Jacko best on hound. Great work Dees.

Can Tmac lay a tackle just once please.

Meantime JJ can’t buy a game.

2 half backlines dominating, both teams struggling to find much cohesion between wing and half forward. Not a pretty game to watch.

I don't understand the modern interpretation of a push in the back. In 2/3 of contested marking, someone is shoving the person in front forward and it is not paid. Gawn does it a lot, and cops it a lot.

Early today in this thread I mentioned handballing, tackling, and F50 efficiency. Tackling = tick. The other 2 are the mess they have been all year.

Any chance Goodwin's could give up like Hardwick

It's a strange feeling when Reddit is the best option for a rational discussion of something. The game day threads here are something else.

it’s shocker, isn’t it. It’s got real Sunday afternoon 4;20pm game, circa 2014, feels.

That's exactly how it feels and it shouldn't. We are a top 4 team playing a team out of the 8 and should be comfortably winning.

All I can think is what Collingwood will do to us in 2 weeks time

We’ve had numerous opportunities when we’ve won the ball off half back.

A dreadful game - we have no zip at all, absolutely flat. Freo are terrible also - the Pies would have put these guys to bed already.

Not sure where our lift is going to come from, but it doesn’t bode well for the rest of the year.

How so?

Strating to forget the last time Kozzie tore a game apart.

I think it was before he was suspended.

Been a while.

Sadly Chandler following his lead.

Our forward line is 6tuffed.

He could have kicked them straight? 😂

So frustrating.

And tried to take a mark 1 hander. He doesn't do enough

Let’s try for the first 10 minutes of the 3/4 kamakzi run and gun, fast ball movement , play on at all costs to an open fwd line with Fritsch coming out of the square, Chandler and Kosi 25-30 metres out in opposite pockets.

Disposal efficiency says it all

Dees 69% vs 79% Freo

Yep our skills are terrible. Handballs and short kicking going astray. Need to rectify in the 2nd half or we are in big trouble. We also over use the ball when under pressure instead of getting a quick kick into the forwards. Hate to be a forward in this team.

He needs to be coached.

Learn some more footy smarts Kozzy, stop trying to do the flashy stuff.

You wonder what they do over the preseason? Plenty of time to work on skills...🤔🤔🤔

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
