I will say this, if I see Pies fans sitting in our reserved seat area I will get them kicked out. It’s happened before and they were drunk and aggressive.
I don’t pay hundreds of dollars a year to sit with filth!

If the game is "sold out", and the ground holds 100,000, but they're "expecting 90,000", what happens to the other 10,000 seats?

Unused Corporate allocations, Corporate boxes arent full, dining rooms arent all full, reserved seat areas arent full, extra standing room for the grand final all contribute. The 95K on Anzac Day this year is about the biggest non-PF/GF crowd you will ever see.

the problem is that Melbourne reserved seat holders give it to their Collingwood mates - they simply show the ticket and MCG staff don't give a rat's backside to do anything. This year i am hoping that because 95%+ of our reserved seat members are going to be attending and reserved seats that arent purchased that are currently being sold require a Melbourne GA member's barcode to be purchased will result in no Collingwood supporters in them.

If you have friends who are Pies fans, you should find better friends 😂

Well my reserved seats are being given to Melbourne supporters (I assume so given his grandfather is a multiple Brownlow medal winner for the club). I am in the afl so more of us can go together. funnily enough all my friends go for Richmond and Carlton which I sometimes think is worse.

i'll be in afl members, as i have for the last 12 or so years of moving back to melbourne

i know it happens - i've seen the videos - but i've never seen an issue of violence or abuse; for the most part the bonhomie amongst various supporters is the best thing about attending sport in this country

i can't wait for monday

should be a crackerjack contest

i definitely do NOT want a one point win with spargo goaling from a free kick after the final siren; my mfcss sees me generally having kittens if our lead is less than 42 points at 3/4 time

One of my coworkers never misses a game, but he'll be missing the Collingwood game because last year the Filth supporters abused my coworker's son (who has Down Syndrome) to the extent security was called and the family left at half time.  Unfortunately there are some pretty shocking supporters out there (not limited to Collingwood)

Well in my job I deal with a lot of lawyers and doctors and I know plenty of Melbourne supporters. I guess it just depends on which demographics you mix with 😉

And the numbers ... my mate reckons he's dealt with in excess of 500 clients over a long period of time and only 2 or 3 demons amongst 500+

How many doctors & lawyers, Gonzo)

Up around 500?

Footnote; Same mate reckons we are the most marketable team if we have a long period of success

The name, colours, the Demon, MCG etc etc

That’s deplorable, DP. Unfortunately incidents such as this still happen. Yes, security are quick to step in and won’t hesitate to call in Police and have these cretins ejected, but the damage has already been done. In the case of your co-worker the damage is that they can’t attend another vs Collingwood match,  understandably, and that sucks.

Interestingly, I was chatting to a security guy before Friday’s match. He’s been working at the ‘G for 15 years and of course I had to ask him his opinion on the behaviour of clubs’ fans. Unsurprisingly he cited Collingwood, Essendon and Richmond fans as the most obnoxious. Surprisingly though, he said when it comes to cheer squads, Collingwood and Essendon are up there with the most well-behaved (!) with Richmond and Carlton possibly the worst. (Nice going, Richmond: obnoxious in all areas.) He said the least troublesome were us and St Kilda, but that might’ve been because he was talking to me and was just being polite. 😁

I once asked a hot doughnuts vendor the same question and he said hands down Collingwood and Essendon fans were the rudest. So there’s the world balance restored.

My partner was called a stupid tncu for cheering a goal last year, she’s not coming. That was in the MCC members!

And I have to say, sitting in the MCC, there are so many Melbourne people that just simply don't understand the rules or have a decent feel for the game. But all clubs have nuffies.

Everyone and everything thing has a price. If Carton or Richmond, who have recent excellent form in this area, offer two first rounders for him, would we take it?

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
