Pretty much guarantees a loss.

Why? Did you watch Turner dominate in the VFL yesterday? Would you not prefer Lever play the intercept role rather than as a tall defender? Do you understand that Sparrow is important to our structure and that we risk lacking the leg speed against Freo?

Jordon was the sub so to bring three in and leave him as sub you need one more out.

Personally I can see Jordon getting Hunter’s wing.

Thanks have updated. I would like to see Laurie as sub and Brayshaw to the wing.

SO the rain was unforecast?

WE went in too tall again has exposed poor selection and coaching Good =win was thrashed in the coaching box

Sat like a stunned mullet just hoping something would change

Too tall ? Who would you have dropped K?

we were 5 mins short of time with our run. And with Trac not quite 100% and Salo not quite match fit for full game our last quarter was not as good as usual.
I believe if Harmes had played and Sparrow available we would have won with more flexibility and physical presence plu  so a tagging role available.  To let one player get 41 possies  and no tag is acting like a billionaire and we paid for it.

Perhaps McVee and Chandler could be rested one vs Freo and other vs Carlton.

And no one has mentioned about our Forward Coach who really only gets us going ok vs Outside top 8 sides and did fit about 6 weeks at the end if 2021.

Agsinst Top8 teams we revert to lack of connectivity and our system can go out of the window. Stafford had had 2and a half years to solve this about Time a change was made. And Ooze is under the pump for his on  ball lack of action and cohesion.  Let's treat these as serious ie shape up or maybe change them or ship out!! Or change the players that only play ONE role. Surely we don't want a team of one trick ponies?

There’s no way we go with BBB as an additional tall in. Our ground level work against Port in our forward 50 was atrocious. You just can’t carry that many talls in while we have Grundy/Gawn as a resting ruck.

My tip is that Gawn will play majority forward this weekend. He had a shocker last week.

Tmac is a potential out for Brown but that’s it I think.

Re key forwards it’s not all the coach/FD fault!

One of BBB, TMac, Scache(can’t get my head around spelling his name🤪), or Joel Smith needs to step up and make FF/CHF their position.

JVR is in second season so if he can just be competitive week to week is about all you can expect, and he will through in the odd really bad game.

Max/Grundy kicking some goals and creating some pressure should be a bonus!

Friday night was shocking conditions for tall timber and Max gets absolutely nothing from the umpires in SA! Even less than in Victoria where he gets sweet FA!  I take that back on reflection he got two frees re over the top blocking, but nothing in any making contest, nor Lycett smashing him front on!

Personally I’d give Schache 5 weeks at full forward, he is an accurate kick, let BbB get to 100% fitness and come in after the bye for the run home if Schache doesn’t make the most of his opportunity!

Personally dont mind the idea of the Shack for a month.  Tmac plays well...but has lost a yard of pace...  thats hurting him/us...a big shame as Irally like what Tommybrings to the recipe.  Benny must have serious niggles..I mean what else could it really be ?? I dunno.  Shack could be a decent fillip to the role..if not the answer...again who knows..

What we do know is theFWD setup needs shoring up...its not working properly...it could be lethal...needs to be

I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone suggest we need to bring an additional tall in. I agree with you, we can’t get taller.

But we need to ensure the talls we play can impact as talls. JVR struggled on Friday and TMac’s mobility and strength are waning, fast. I’m not sure they’re the best combo.

No. Yes. Yes. Yes. But that doesn’t mean I agree with Turner and Laurie being included.
I’ve seen Turner dominate in the VFL before and fail at AFL.

I’ve seen Laurie struggle to get a kick at AFL level. He is miles off.

i agree Sparrow is important and would include him.

Turner has played 5 minutes of an AFL game before getting injured and then asked to give up 17kgs to an opponent in the other. This week against Amiss is a perfect match up for him and he is in excellent VFL form.

Laurie has not set the world on fire in his two games. However he is consistently too good for VFL and offers polish and poise we lack.

What changes would you make? Do you think last weeks side matches well against Freo who are starting to gain form?

Just to be clear… You understand that I don’t have to agree with you, right? Nor justify my views to you.

Freo played well against an undermanned Cats side and if this week’s match were held in Perth, I think they’d win. I will leave team selection to the experts, but I can’t see that either Laurie or Turner will improve the side. There’s a huge gap between VFL and AFL. I like Sparrow and I think Harmes might have helped us against Yartapuulti if he’d run with Butters. One or both of them will probably come in next week.

Not against it, he's probably not going to offer much coming in and out like a bit-parter. Give the Shack a chance to attack.

They won’t play Schache, he just doesn’t have it. I liked the idea but after watching Casey I’m far from convinced. I actually do t think we have an obvious answer. I’d probably play Smith because at least he can run and chase

He is a great half back and they only move him to let Salem in

How did salem play?

Yep I understand you dont need to agree with me nor would I think many would. I dont think there is anything clear cut with this weeks changes.  I do think its fair if you are going to dis someone’s view (thats a guaranteed loss) you at least give some basis or have one of your own to counter with. I see you have at least now have provided some of  both which I appreciate.

Rarely, but we have 2 forced, maybe 3 with Bowey. And Hunter and Oliver require a rejig with an extra mid coming in (unless Pickett and ANB are use more). We can’t expect their replacements on ball and in the middle to play as many minutes.

I reckon Chandler would be too 10 in the Bluey voting. Can’t see him out.

And no way will Goody make 4 changes.

I can’t see them dropping Chandler. Bowey and Oliver out injured. I’d bring in Turner and Sparrow.

Who comes in for the suspended Hunter? Unlikely we challenge as he shapes for a bump before going for the ball.

I don’t feel good about Chandler out but I’m not sure we can carry 3 specialist small forwards plus Nibbler, plus Fritsch, plus the talls.

Maybe he stays in and we do stick with Pickett taking stints on ball and ANB as a wing rotation.

I just think we need a heap of midfield rotations to replace Oliver.

Shuffling the deck chairs whatever we do I think. Happy to be proven wrong of course but we won’t be pushing for the flag unless we see a huge reversal in form. The ladder flatters us.

I like your thinking wwsw definitely Sparrow and Jordon and either Disco/ Howes/ Laurie and one of those three as sub. We will require a massive team effort this week to beat Dockers

POINT WELL MADE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons had a number of points to make to themselves, their opponents and the VFL football world when they traveled up to the Gold Coast to take on the Southport Sharks in the 2022 Grand Final rematch at Fankhauser Reserve.  After living off the glory of an almost perfect premiership, the Demons stumbled after winning the opening four games of the season and have struggled in their recent northern state sojourns - their only loss in 2022 came at the hands of the Lions in Brisbane a

BLUES FREE FOOTY by George on the Outer

Long time supporters would be all too familiar with the call “free kick, Hawthorn”, as umpires seemed to gift certain teams an inordinate amount of free kicks in the game. Similarly, in the Melbourne v Carlton game a 22 to 13 free kick count, was grossly out of place given the dominance of Melbourne in just about every other statistic for the game.   However, for the Blues with only 4½ wins from their 12 games, their season is rapidly heading the same way as Hawthorn, despite all the help t

WRITING ON THE WALL by Whispering Jack

The Narrm Football Club found a second way in the space of 12 months less a day to unexpectedly lose a home game against Walyalup on Saturday afternoon. The equivalent match of last year has been described as Melbourne’s “ground zero” of 2022 where things went wrong for the club after a long run of wins that included its 57 year drought-breaking premiership triumph. Unfortunately for the Demons, the 2023 version was a case of deja vu with the Dockers overcoming a half time deficit and runn
