Baker is ahead of Hunter as a winger at this stage of the season. Playing really well.

Jesus christ you say some absolute tripe but this is by far the worst take ever.

He has the same problem as JVR with marking, hand position is all wrong the ball will always hit their hands and bounce out.

You talk a lot of rubbish

New rule for Anzac weekend, if a player  takes a mark, you can attack his full forward, or other team mate, without fear of 50m, even if right in front of 4 umpires.

Bizarre!

The Dogs are showing why we should’ve hubbed in Adelaide last week, after round v West Coast.

Focussed, determined, hungry, the want to apply defensive pressure. Everything we weren’t against Essendon.

For those that don’t know, Dogs elected to fly direct to Perth from Gather round.

Apparently our players wanted to be back home to family. They even took the red eye flight... 🤦🏻‍♂️

Albeit it doesn't always happen as he was assisted by a lovely shepherd, Baker's decision to run & bounce to take space as the Freo zone continued to fold back was a thing of beauty.

Not one player came at him early, preferring to remain stuck in their "team defence by wrote" shape .... which in the end resulted in them panicking and giving up a free & a critical goal anyway.

Wish more players (who have pace and capable) would do this a bit more often.

Great stuff Oskar!

Never. That was unintentional, I’m sure.

cos c7 don't broadcast after goals and it's their camera use

Ok, I mean they shouldn't give it exposure but yeah.

It’s my opinion. I’m entitled to it. In my view Baker is having a greater impact for the Dogs than Hunter is for the Dees. I’m saying that, Hunter has been fairly good. Just love the pace on Baker. The game opens up ahead of him when he runs, and he seems to have improved his kicking

Freo:

  • Atrocious tall forwards and forward-entry system.
  • Pearce lacks captain/leadership influence
  • Bottom 6 bog ordinary

Really unusual. The mentioning of it doesn’t surprise me, especially as it’s BT, the same man who is the most animated when commentating a melee. But the vision is something you don’t see anymore.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
