Won't be any pressure on selection at this rate. Gee whiz, worst Casey game I've seen love for a long while.

Hoping for a turnaround in the second half.

Agree can’t recall a worse quarter by Casey. Woey has turned it over 3 times for 3 goals. We are looking 2nd rate.

Need to regroup. I think BBB and Tom Have kicked 6 points between them.

Casey has a new game plan, see ball get ball and handball to someone under pressure, never thought of that, not quite working out yet.

Half Time Richmond VFL 7.3.45 lead Casey Demons 2.9.21

Goals Edwards Valentine

Disposals Dunstan 21 Harmes 14 Howes 10

6.1 to 5 points by Casey.

Absolutely terrible quarter by Casey.

Really missing Jimmy Munro. He actually knows that offence comes from defence. Too many (basically all) Casey players running ahead of the ball and refusing to defend. That plus attrocious goal kicking and umpiring. It shows even at VFL level if you don't turn up with the right attitude you will lose. On the positive side, Casey can't possibly be any worse in the 2nd Half.

If Jimmy Munro is at the ground he may well go into the rooms at half time and start whacking his own team mates.

This has been dead set heartless. Tigers are walking out of tackles like they're playing against U13s

Dunstan would be a world beater if he could even occasionally hit a target.

I think you're right 'Neil', he doesn't look like hitting a target.

The only one who can kick a ball where it's supposed to go is Sestan.

...and he needs to get more of it.

Even though the commentator seems to call Sestan for every player she doesn't know the name of.

i've only watched the last half of the 2nd quarter and casey seem to be playing with no energy at all

so slow, lazy and sloppy. doesn't look like a casey team, more like a team of cardboard cut-outs

better pull out the finger in the 2nd half

Ben & Tom look a mile off AFL level at the moment.

Couldn't run out of sight on a dark night.

Strong team but will get a lot better…Ferris- White on interchange will be a worthwhile watch along with Jefferson, also on interchange.Hopefully Harmes has another good half as others are pathetic re TMac and Brown..Backline very poor, so far, first half

casey midfielders lack a lot today

the game plan is ponderously slow as we all know and lends itself to the running counter attack from our half forward line

Woey another turnover. Don’t know what is going on.

It's called tying to do more than your ability allows.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
