Perhaps they have rested him and sent to the MCG as an emergency.

Quite possible, could mean there's a possible late out for the seniors.

You have to feel for Tomlinson- too good for this level

Agree, he deserves a crack at AFL level. I wonder if we have F50 issues in the seniors Tomo could pintch hit up forward

Meanwhile, Casey’s premiership coach Mark Corrigan who now coaches Geelong’s VFL team is under the pump up on the Gold Coast where his Cats are down by 13 goals late in the third quarter.

Speaking of pumps, Corro can use one for the new farm he got from the Cats.

Seriously though, I don’t blame him for coaching closer to home.

What role did he play? And therefore whose spot might be vulnerable if we lose today?

Played a lot of mopping of half back and then through the centre when the ball was around the ground. I might have missed him at a centre bounce if he was at them(?). He played really well, but I'm not so sure he would be pushing into the team unless there are injuries or someone really has a terrible, terrible game. There is a lot to work with there, but it wasn't like JJ last week. I thought Tomlinson was probably best on for us. But that is just my opinion.

Was an interesting match today.  Considering the Swans kicked a couple of junk time goals and Casey still won by 7 goals, one would think they completely dominated the match, however at stages it felt like Sydney could have easily won the match.  Sydney dominated the first quarter and large portions of the 3rd term, however they missed some gettable shots and Casey were very good at getting goals when required against the grain which was the difference between the two sides.

I was more impressed with Casey's win this week then I was last week.  Last week we pretty much dominated the game and it was only as close as it was because we kicked 1.9 to start the match.  This week Sydney were right in the match and dominated sections of the match.  We also only had 11 senior listed players in the team this week compared to 16 last week I think it was.  A great team effort in the circumstances.

A few things of note today;

1. Both Tom McDonald and Adam Tomlinson played like men desperate to get back in the seniors.  McDonald marked everything that came his way and was a constant presence, while Tomlinson was a real general down back. Tomlinson had his hands full at times, as the battle between he and Hayden McLean was a good contest to watch with them out-bodying each other on different occasions, but if you had to award the points one way or the other, you'd have to give them to Tomlinson. Also their leadership and instructions to team-mates and where to go was top notch. 26 minutes into the final term and 7 goals up and Tomlinson was still telling the midfielders off for giving up 4 clearances in a row. Was great to see.

2. Both Sestan and Moniz-Wakefield have real x-factor about them. Sestan didn't get much of it, but he kicked 2 and created plenty of opportunities for others.  He's a natural goal kicker by the looks of things and I can see him keeping the pressure on someone like Fritsch as a mid sized forward.  While Moniz-Wakefield looks really clean and dangerous whenever he's around.  He also looks pretty good in the air.  Just needs to get a left foot IMO.

3. Matt Jefferson has sticky hands.  Love his marking ability and I expect that he'll have a strong year at Casey before getting a bit more muscle on his frame before he can put his hand up in 2024 and beyond for a senior chance.

4. I like Hayden McLean from Sydney. A few years ago I'd suggest we target him as a potential target.  Though with Van Rooyen and Jefferson coming through the ranks and Setan a good mid-sized developing player as well, he probably isn't on our radar.  One to keep an eye on though.

5. The egg and bacon rolls were back!

Loving the progress of Howes, with further gym and development, he could just about play anywhere on the ground.

Jefferson should not be considered at all this year in the seniors, very raw and talented but needs some serious size on him

Agree- but both seem to have good skills - ability…Howes missed a lot of football last year, seems like he could develop into a steady HB flanker or wing whilst Jefferson is showing as good ability as JVR did same time last year.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
