I reckon the notion that it’s a significant experiment is grossly overstated. How is it so different to the Gawn/Jackson combo?

The media have hyped the hell out of it. Mostly because they are both AA and neither is a notable forward. I agree, it is not going to be the most significant factor. Based on what I saw against Richmond it is going to be out ball movement. I do think trying to take the 45 kick will open it up for us to use Gawn and Grundy more effectively as outlets.

Tomlinson won’t be the difference if we win or lose, he’s one part of a team defence.
Go Demons!!!

If we let Bulldogs in with a few easy goals i dont think our forwards minus Fritsch can kick a winning score.

Geelong kicked over 100 p and still lost comfortably in the end.

Are you suggesting if we let in a few easy goals it will be due to Tomlinson?

Welcome to gameday everyone. You can smell it in the air!

Due to 'Melbourne Air' I cant smell anything.  Sinuses are totally blocked.  Feeels like a pencil rubber up each nostril.

I can still yell Go Dees.

I remember a lot of h8 for Lever as when he was returning from his knee.....lot of knockers. I dont think ppl understand the confidence side of injury rehab. Can take a while.

Disagree. We've all seen what Pickett can do when he's at his best. And 2021 showed that Brown and Tmac can be very damaging when they're both fit.

This is so true, WWS! This is oftentimes more important than the physical healing. The power of confidence is immeasurable. So it’s also why we all need to get behind Tommo. Give him all the love he deserves and NEEDS.

I've got the same issue. A lot of the time I can't smell anything.

Apart from the sweet smell of victory of course!

I think we can cover Viney and Fritsch and I'm not sure Salem is best 22 after last years performances but May is a massive loss. Have no faith in Tomlinson hoping to be proven wrong and happy to give an apology after the game if he does his job.

Before Tomlinson went down the knee on 2021 he was playing CHB with aplomb!

We know he’s only in the team due to injuries but let’s give the support tonight because trying to contain Naughton is going to take a Herculean effort.

Well if it's windy the Dogs might have issues with all the set shots they'll be expected to take on our 'no name' backline.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
