Made the trip into Gosch’s after checking the website this morning - even now it still says it’s on at Gosch’s.
Very easy thing for the club to fix.

Poor effort. You could still have written:

  • beautiful day for training here at Gosch's
  • the temporary scoreboard is up, or not up, as the case maybe
  • no sign of Max Gawn
  • couldn't see any smile on Kozzy - presume that means he must be leaving at the end of the year

Lack of information coming from the club is becoming endemic again. Website still has last year’s membership tally posted, with no updates. Why post training times at all if it isn’t current.?

Bring back Ben Gibson.

Still don't have updated player pictures or profiles on the website. Over three months since Kyah Farris-White joined the club, and nobody can take a photo of the kid on their phone?

15 or so people here. Including 3 kids under 5.

Imagine hating your fans as much as the Melbourne football club

Jesus christ what a [censored] show by the club, especially if supporters have already turned up.

I’ve got my Melbourne shorts on and will be kicking the footy around with my son at Goschs shortly if anyone wants to report on me. Took the day off for this too. Go dees.

Apart from a 2 minute interview with Jefferson there’s been nothing with any of the draftees have they? Not even sure most of them can speak

This is historically true.

That would be very annoying TPF39 and Demonland, as mentioned how hard is it to update a website to assist us supporters particularly those that provide such great training threads.!!!

Plenty of hilarious videos about Gawn and Grundy being in love though…

Unbelievable, I just drove from Balnarring to Carrum station with my 4 year old boy and made our way into to Richmond for nothing. He's shattered & I'm fuming.

I’ve just ridden in from Parkdale. Not impressed - a lovely ride though!

The MFC media department has always been a snore fest until Benny Gibson came along and actually made it relevant worthy.

Good to see it's gone back to its original graveyard existences.

I have travelled from Ballarat..this is becoming totally unacceptable…This has been going on for years now…I took the matter up around 12+years ago…when Leigh Newton was there and nearly got barred for it…maybe an issue to take up with at the GM .or write to Pert.

I'm going to contact the club  it's  just not good enough. I spent money on putting my daughter into before school care specifically so we could get into town early, then paid for an adult & child to travel from Carrum to Richmond and back, Petrol money from Balnarring to Carrum, 4 hours of wasted time. I'll be asking for a decent voucher from the Demon Shop.

BB moving like this as a great sign, working him into the season perfectly.  I would hate to be picking the fwd line rd 1!!

This really is very disappointing. I understand last minute changes, but it's not like they didn't know early enough to inform the players. If they can inform the players they can surely post a message on social media at the same time.

There are literally a million 20 something year olds who are dominating social media right now.
How hard would it be to hire someone to really get that side of the club up and running properly? Hell I am sure you could find some mad Dees fans who would even do it on the cheap or in return for some inside access to the club.

Disappointment at the paddock.

A few with kids and prams, some of the brain trust, a man who hobbled across from the Yarra using two walking sticks. Got there and ask some others what they thought. They said " we rang the club and were told, the training was still on". Many of us waited another 45 minutes, till it dawned on us.

Anyway, had a walk on the paddock. The surface is quite cut up and feels firm under foot. Looks great from a distance. They need someone to fill in a few divots with some sand.

Wandered over to the glasshouse. Collingwood have a great set up.

They were moving the ball with a switch from the defensive boundary, with leads down the rails and a lead into, and with angles to a forward.

We seem to be training with our mind on competing, they are doing the fast ball and player movement, using the angles to open up the spaces.

Addit: Storms training, so not a complete loss.

Had a chat to a groundsman, he tells me there are two type of grasses growing on the paddock and they are waiting for the second type to take hold. That type will make it more spongy. They don't have enough staff to do the finer parts to turf care.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
