Operation keep Kozz

Are they mates?

Does anyone have any observations of these guys in action? Or if Burgoyne is over his injury run?

His highlights were as a midfielder with pace and reasonably good disposal, he maybe the piece of the puzzle an outside midfield runner complimenting our inside powerhouses.

His problem with injury and Covid would have stopped his development in his 3 years on the PA list but he played last year with some breaks showed he maybe over his injury and with a good preseason he may blossom.

Must be surreal for Mark Williams. Coached his dad to their only premiership and is now a development coach of his son.

Looking at his highlights I reckon he would make a great running half back.

This has Choco's fingerprints all over it.

Showed some pace and skill as a junior:

That is not only pace, that reel shows white-line fever for the ball and the direction. Notice how he straightens up to a direction through gapping, and in turn, straightens up the whole team movements, as well, as a consequence? Even to the oncoming forwards readying for the 'receive'. Eyes up, always, entering the forward zones. Like it, not fazed by big bodies around him looking for action.

That's very interesting. A connection like that can be the difference.

Question for Kev Martin - did you see much of him? I'm really regretting not keeping an eye on him now but as we've said there was a lot going on.

Anything to keep Choco with us another couple of years is a good thing 🙂

Maybe Trent came for 2 reasons his friendship with Kozzie and Peter Burgoyne relationship with Mark Williams as well as recruiters like Kelly O'Donnell who look at players who were delisted.

Can't see any real downside with giving this young fella another chance

Has pace, good disposal skills and will be well coached under Chocco and Co

If he is one of Kozzies mates that's an added bonus

Too many run ons for me to recognise him. Now I know his number 43. What I did notice was he was sided up with Kossie and there are quite a few first nations people around. Whelan has an offsider, and a run on #33, who is a whippet.

Later in the Monday session he was on the training bike. I assume they want to to increase his fitness levels and ease him in slowly.

I thought I saw him getting a little physiotherapy on his hip area.

This could really be great for both of them, Rivers isn't the slowest going around.

Brilliant people manager!

Wow! nice to see a P.R.O.P.E.R highlight reel.  He looks a real chance based on that

I like this move. neither player nor club has anything to lose and everything to gain. I'm happy to rookie list him and see what happens. he will be a good acquisition for Casey if nothing else and could be a smokey to play seniors if all goes right.

hope he still has the pace

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
