Not worried about how hard or soft the fixture might be at this point in time. As long as everyone at the club has the resolve to atone for our disappointing 2022 finals series I’ll be happy.

The AFL has given us the opportunity to come face to face with that reality almost immediately by pitting us against the Lions and Swans in Rounds 2 & 3 and let’s not forget that the Bulldogs got us in Round 19.

So we start the season facing three teams that beat us last time up. 

Great fixture. Actually surprised it is quite different to the usual. 

6 of our last 8 games are in Melbourne. 

I’m interested to see how the Swans manage Buddy next season, hopefully it’s to the detriment of the club and any top 4 aspirations they might have. I think Brisbane will replace the Swans in the top 4.

Barring serious injury to numerous players we simply must win it in 2023. 
We’ve tasted success, you could argue last year we had some injuries, bad luck and some unsettling influences, but we’re now back at arguably full strength with the addition of Grundy and Hunter. We may never see this much talent in their prime again on our list. Our coaching team also didn’t get raided as we had thought, what have we learnt from last season?

We would be current favourites in 19/23 games. Underdogs against Lions, Power, Cats and Swans away.

Agree DD Good draw for Financial rewards. Just need our boys to get back to2021 style od winning with a bit more flair.

I understand why we get sent to Cat park every year due to our lack of supporters and commercial contracts etc but is there a reason we always play WCE in Perth and the Dockers as a home game?

You can put the house on the cats finishing top of the ladder.

Same sort of reasoning, I would think - they assume that they’ll largely fill their stadium, no matter who they play, including Melbourne, whereas a home game at the MCG against those teams might only draw 20,000.

Not saying that I agree with that thinking at all, but it’s perhaps along those lines.

There are 5 games that are money earners plus Lions and early in season Swans should be good also 40,000 plus. Others should be 60,000 to 75,000 vs Pies Blues and Tigers. Remember we still make $500/750,000 (not sure) for NT Alice vs GWS game.

But why not alternate the Eagles and Dockers?

Cats have double ups against Swans, Pies, Fremantle, dogs, Port and dons

bloody tough. Even bombers won’t be easy beats next year

I’m planning on being in Perth over Easter. Wondering how hard it would be to get two tickets to our game against West Coast? I have two 17 game membership I can use. Would I be any chance for anyone who’s done that before?

That's a bloody good draw - from a financial perspective, fan perspective- but most of all in terms of who we play.

Massive we play roos and hawks x 2. That's 4 wins banked. And of the top teams, we only play the cats and pies once.

Swans twice is tough, but happy to be playing lions twice given how well we match up against them.

Crucially our run home is not the issue it was last season.

Of course we play Jeelong at kitty litter park for the millionth time in the last 50 years. But meanwhile Carltank and the Filthy slime of humanity NEVER get to play down there. FRIGGEN AFL are a disgrace!
