freo have Dogs Lions and Swans in the next 5

😃

Never mind Dogs Lions and Swans. The Suns will beat them next weekend.

Their next 16 games are mostly against top 4 contenders or teams that played finals last year.

I can't see them winning more than 3 or 4 of those. Maybe 5 best case scenario.

I wonder if my theory now has some merit.

It was that other players are unhappy about team mates being traded to fit LJ in and jealousy at his contract.

This death riding has already been a lot of fun. A top 5 pick in a super draft seems genuinely attainable. The Jackson trade, combined with the Grundy acquisition could become an amazing move, if it isn’t already

2007 - 2018 EO we were in it from 1998 - 2006.!!

Thanks.. I have zero sense of time. Just that it ebbs away quickly!

Crows will give Carlton their first proper test of the year next weekend. I'll be tipping the Crows.

Freo reek of Melbourne 2019. Long season ahead for them.

This deathride is going all the way.

That I thought at the end of their 2022 season

Say we get pick 5 from Freo, is there a chance we actually trade up to get pick 1?

I am assuming we could stack pick 5, pick 23 and our own second round pick?

Great result, didn’t watch the game. Is the player we are linked to Henry? He is copping an absolute Pasting on their big footy board.

We have our own first rounder as well, we are in a very good position.

Yes it is, and I only watched the 4th quarter & I agree, he didn’t look great

He was very poor ball in hand. Butchered all his possies.

No chance Hawks are giving up pick 1.

You wouldnt want to be a football personality in Perth. Coach Longmuir is now copping it.  Heats off Jacko for a few weeks..Maybe.

Who would want to live in that environment. Longmuir wont read the papers tomorrow he might choke on the chocolate egg.

The only way we will get pick #1 is if Freo finish last. That is highly unlikely.

They're in such a fish bowl that I wouldn't be surprised to see a new Freo coach this year. As long as they don't go after Yze.

Not highly unlikely. Definitely possible. They play Hawks twice. On current form, the Hawks win those games

But they won’t. They’re tanking hard.

People in the future will look at 2023 in their history book and ask "Why did the Dees receive Priority Picks after winning the flag?"

Our 2023 draft picks based on last year's finishing positions are:

Melbourne 13, 14, 32, 33, 88

I'd be ecstatic if that turned into 1, 18, 19, 38 & ? On Fremantle's revealed form those picks 13 & 32 are going to be a lot higher. I hadn't quite appreciated how easy a draw Fremantle had early. I assume that as they finished 6th their remaining draw is pretty tough. Which 6 teams do they play twice?

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
