Something is up with Kozzys Instagram. The club has deleted the “thick” post referencing him (not all kozzy posts) and Kozzy has deleted all his pics and references to MFC. Just has #36 on there.

Weird.

The thick post was particularly thick, we really don't have to descend in to such silly social media stuff. But I'm not entirely sold the 2 are related.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the “thick” post and what is it in reference to.

The club posted a picture of a shirtless and clearly bulkier Kossie with the caption Kossie Thick-ett.

Sounds pretty innocuous. Am I missing something? Apologies if I am and am being insensitive.

I saw the pictures in another thread. Can’t wait to see Kozzy tear through people this season and hope he ends up staying.

Is Kozzie offended by this saying or what's wrong with it.

I was thinking that.

The common usage of a person being 'thick' is they are not very bright.  So 'Thick-ett' could imply such of Kozzie and therefore easily taken as an offence if not by Kozzie by those close to him or senior people at the club, on Kozzie's behalf.

Sloppy wording by whoever wrote it and it shouldn't get past the club's editors of marketing material.

On that point alone I can see why it was taken down.

For the post to be deleted by the club someone was offended. It might not be Kozzy but the “Thick” reference could be interpreted as fat shaming or body shaming and the club is just being PC about it.

Perhaps Kozzy came back out of shape, not my opinion as I think he looks to be in beast mode, but maybe he came back a bit heavier but social media didn’t get the memo and posted what they did and then were asked to remove it either by Kozzy or the FD.

Anyway this is all purely conjecture and probably has no bearing in reality.

this is plausible too.

I really hope a poorly worded social media post hasn’t soured the relationship between Kozzy and the club.

TBH, when I saw that ‘Thickett’ post - I thought that it was unfair and mean and brought unnecessary attention onto his physique especially considering skin folds are an important metric for the start of pre -season.

Social media platform in the some of the AFL clubs are dead set [censored] cringe. Worse I've ever seen it. Remember the Freo one when they recruited Jackson?

Looks like we've just joined the party unfortunately.

Do better Melbourne Football Club. Keep it simple and stop posting cringe stuff as you can tell from Petracca's response.

Yeah they should have just zombified Max and captioned it Gawn of the Dead. I’ll see myself out.

WOW!  That is really bad.

Making fun of people's names is not OK.

It is worse than mispronouncing someone's name; something most people get offended about.  It certainly didn't please Petracca at the Brownlow when Gill kept misprouncing 'Petracca'.

Although I can’t be sure I doubt Trac was WTFing about the title Tracula. He was probably just creeped out by the image of him as Dracula drinking blood.

He was however definitely [censored] off about the league boss not knowing how to pronounce one of the premier players in the leagues name.

“Thicket” is also slang for the pubic hair which grows around a males crotch region.

Oh ffs.

A harmless play on a name rhyming.

If this is the crux of his account content being deleted I’ll bare my bum in Myers.
One day we’ll all be banned from speaking.

i loved the tracula post, nobody is making fun of his name, it was for Halloween

It's just a bit of fun Shaun.

Maybe someone from news corp is helping with our social media?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
