17 goals in a VFL season, 4th at club, is hardly going to be keeping the oppo coaches up at night thinking about match ups. His best game was 3 goals against the Northern Bullants who have to beg local kids to play with them. Hes a great story if he gets a game but he wont be in the team for his scoreboard impact.

Your numbers are way off… do your research before giving such a damming assessment.

I recall in games where it was just him and Kentfield as our tall forwards,

Speaking of whom, does anyone have any updated info on Luker’s whereabouts or progress?

back at the club within the next few weeks

That will set him back considerably. A shame I was hoping for a big improvement this year with a good pre season.

He needs this season at Casey to develop and build fitness.

It puts you well behind when you miss weeks in Jan/Feb. Look at Clarry last year he never recovered the required fitness level.

Don’t think it will matter too much, as Luker was probably not looking at a senior game this year. When ready, he can continue to develop and build fitness.

Looking ready Jeffo!  Wish they'd go back to publishing player weights it is an important stat.

If you weighed yourself 3 times in a day each number could be different. I'm pretty certain there was a heated argument on here hat I'm not gonna rekindle but I suspect that on top of shape and height being obvious the staff can make body measurements, record running times as well as things like vertical leap, notice if a player is now stronger in contests and so on. A scale doesn't pick any of this stuff up.

True but I bet the players know exactly what they weigh pre and post training, it’s a great guide to what you are trying to achieve.😁

Coach praise including that their fitness is obviously ramping up. :)

Old Dee last season Clarry’s level prior to Christmas was never approaching his level now. So the pre Cmas level does base your post Xmas training catch up or consolidation for the season.
To even compare Clarry’s fitness now to 2024 same time is completely misleading.

Agree OD but at least Clarry  is fine this year but Luker might struggle and lose a lot of his pre Cmas fitness I guess. Depends,

Agree, but he is probably not playing senior footy for us this season, as he is  behind too many, who are well ahead of him.

So he can develop and get fit at Casey.

No biggy.

I think this year is still more about Jeffo getting a taste before pushing for a more permanent spot in 2026.

But the match sim highlights show how quick his feet are and how he gets to positions to kick goals.

Easy to be optimistic at this time of year but I imagine he’ll have an up and down year but overall he’ll be getting closer. Excited to see a debut at some stage.

I have a really good feeling about Matty Jefferson this year, he now looks ready to go, I can see him and Fritta being very hard to match up with JvR and Disco taking the big dogs.

One of the things I've liked about his Casey game @DeeSpencer is his ability to find himself in a position to score goals, so really interesting to read this as an assessment of match sim too.

Even when he hasn't been able to physically compete the way we expect a KPF to (given his youth and lack of physical development), he found a way to bob up in space ahead of play, in the goal square for a handball, for a centring kick etc. Even if he wasn't winning his own goals, he was finishing them off the back of others work.

I think it's a good trait, the ability to get involved and kick goals.

What are Jeffo’s strengths that will not only get him a game in the AFL but hopefully provide a point of difference as a key forward going forward?

What did Taylor see in him nab him in the first round?

Ask the man himself

Thanks mate for bringing that up.

He did plead for a bit of patience in that video with respect to a few pre seasons.

A handful of senior games and an average of 2 to 3 goals a game at Casey would be a good step in the right direction.

Yeah it was a pretty telling comment, was viewed as a project player, I guess every key forward is though
