Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Cracking games overnight. Brazil won’t sleep well giving penalties to untried players when you have Silva and Neymar there! Madness

Neymars goal was genius. But he should have scored the easy chances

Well done to Croatia (who also made the final in 2018) They really do punch above their weight

Argentina get through after a classic match against the Dutch

Can Morocco continue their run against Portugal? They are every chance

And then the biggie ... England vs France.  Another classic match-up. I favour the French but only slightly

Greece Euro Cup 2004 vibes from Morocco after that win. One game away from the Final, never in your wildest dreams. The first African nation to make a semi-final, magnificent effort.
Ronaldo very emotional but I didn’t like it when he walked straight down the race after the whistle. Show some sportsmanship and shake some hands. It’s not all about him.

Fascinating the Var interpretations. For example, though there is green grass between the ball and the line before the Japanese boot, today's Var interpretation clearly shows that the Frog defender's foot fowled the foot of the Sassenach well into the sacred penalty zone. For once, I agree with the consternation of the Sassenachs.

What does it tell you about VAR?????

VAR is a joke and has borderline ruined football for me. you can barely celebrate a goal these days

the ref in the England game was hopeless. Make no decisions and wait fir VAR. The two pens were so nice bivouac

A combination of retirement, 10am and 1/4/7pm ko times and -2 temperatures outside have meant I’ve watched pretty much the whole thing. The referees have been competent and consistent throughout imo. Until last night that is. That eccentric clown should be on the first plane back to Rio.

Anyway, Qatar should now get the final they want with their two PSG darlings.

The first France goal could have gone either way with the VAR intervention, can imagine some frustration from the English but they can't have any other VAR complaints in that loss.

Kane was fouled outside of the box so VAR looked and could do nothing. The on-field referees were poor missing the incident.

Shocking scenes at the Victory v City game tonight…there’s a way to protest and that wasn’t it. Hope they catch those mugs that assaulted players and throw the book at them.

What a final. One for the ages.

I could not believe what I was witnessing. The Mbappe volley, the last long range France header opportunity to win in regular time, the Messi tap in for 3-2, the handball penalty, and the final save in Extra Time by Martinez were moments of shock and amazement. That Argentina had the game won and France equalised and THEN had real opportunities to win it, was just crazy.

You could easily make a case that this was the greatest international game in history. Messi was magic (aside from the error that led to France's second), and Mbappe's pure ball striking ability is really something to behold. Never has the Olympic torch changed hands so easily!

It certainly rivals 7-1! 😂🇩🇪  🇧🇷😭

I'm not old enough to remember anything below 1998, so it's slim pickings for finals that rival it. Bloody 2006 I fell asleep and woke up after Zidanes headbutt lol

94 my earliest but more moments than in detail as I was in Primary School.

2006 wasn't our fault. the final was on a Saturday (early Sunday Morning). Was in my more social days so I had been out drinking and came home for the match, I did indeed pass out during the match. But back then you could get Spirits at clubs extremely cheap so not entirely my fault (It was entirely my fault).

The Socceroos were what it was all about back in 2006 obviously. It was such a great moment for Australia, a great sense of collective joy that we all shared.. Watching highlights brings a tear to the eye with the SBS commentary. Penalties against Uruguay, Timmy Cahill, and of course the Lucas Neal challenge lol. What a time to be alive!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
