Given the injury report, probable change this week:

Goldie knee (test)  in

Gay calf  (1-week) out

Gaye has been very good so far, hopefully the injury won’t keep her out too long. Will be great to have Goldie back though.

Possible team

B: Birch, Gillard

HB: Goldrick, Lampard, Heath

C: Mithen, Purcell, Paxman

HF: Hore, Bannan, Zanker

F: D.Pearce, Harris

FOLL: L.Pearce, West, Hanks

IC: Chaplin, Sherriff, Ivey, Fitzsimon, Johnson

Glad it's just the week for Gay after her struggles last season.

For those wondering about Duffy, according to twitter comments, she's fine but not match ready yet. Building for Round 5-6.

Excellent mark and finish Kate Hore. Great start Dees.

Intensity, clean hands, great link play and accurate goal kicking. Superb 1st quarter from the girls. 6 straight into the breeze.

St Kilda don't know what hit them. This game is over already

Wow, will the Saints get two disposals in a row?

Great structure behind the ball.

Good forward craft, creating separation and kicking straight

Purcell playing great footy, along with West, the engine room.

Fair start by the girls. Has a team ever kicked 100 points before?

yes. we did against Freo last year. Only time its been done i think

Eliza West is a dynamo at stoppage. Just knows how to get her hands on the ball. Massive improver this year

DL's must have forgotten the game is on!

Are we playing our Home game at St Kilda's Home ground or just agreed to wear dark shorts?

I think everyone is still fixated on the fallout from Friday night's game

Let's see if they can "reset".

No goals for 2 quarters. I thought getting big leads would free them up. Seems the opposite for MFC teams. The longer we go without scoring after getting the big lead, the more nervous we get.

This thread got a lot more traffic when it was moved to the main footy board last season.

after a blistering start we've been very ordinary. Badly need a goal

Is there another game nearby? A lot of whistles can be heard

Great 1st quarter. Forget about the rest of the game. Missed opportunity to build percentage

Libby Birch having a great season. Paxy too. Talk of her demise greatly exaggerated

Huge game next week against the Lions at Casey. Could well determine who finishes on top

Very strange game with a good result.  Next weekend should tell us a story.  Strong four quarters needed!

What a frustrating game to watch. Our goal kicking went from gold to bovine crap.

Great move by the AFL to introduce club / supporter centric commentary.

I watched the whole game listening to how good St Kilda we're because I couldn't find the Naarm channel!

Great win Dees. Big game next week. It should be the curtain raiser to the vfl granny.

Bizarre game. Blistering first Q. Then 11 behinds.

in 2-3 years I reckon Zanker will dominate the comp. Love her aggression

It was like watching a men's game lately, but the women don't score fast enough to catch us.

We jumped them and looked great.  They tightened up and create a rolling context.  Would have improved with 1 handball and a releasing kick, often we went back into trouble under the pressure.

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
