It is toward the back but you will be under cover (the 'drip line' is Row Y) and protected from the wind.  Far better than the exposed P and Q.

shudder - the drip line

I hope this is beer dripping on me

Thought I’d try my luck again just then. Surprisingly I got straight in after about a 30 second wait and got a ticket in m11 on the 50m line!

Of level 4?

M15 is ground level.  Is that your question?

I think level 4 is Q

Could never work out how 65k members goes into available seats at the G . I’ve learned something today, it doesn’t.

Then to allow members to be able to buy 10 tickets! Madness. (I must admit I got 3 extra tickets because the vibe was only 65 to 70k was expected to attend.

Surely from here on it should be one ticket per member?  Members and members only get first priority! The downside being you can’t sit with friends.  Personally that wouldn’t bother me….so long as the people next to me bled red and blue.

Out of interest, did anyone get level 2 Punt rd end? Or level 2 anywhere?

I got on within 10mins this morning and picked up 2 tickets in N7 outside the Hassett Room. In 2018 I had similar problems to what others are experiencing now. This morning when I looked at the available bays in Catagory 1 there were seats (although I don't know how many) in N12, N7 and N6. From my experience in 2018 I believe the bays are released selectively and the seats are allocated from the middle of the rows 1st. If you select seats but don't go through with the purchase those seats become unavailable for a period of time hence at times there are no seats available in Cat 1 in the Bays that are unlocked.

looks like they've allocated more seats for us

for those who missed out give it another try

then if necessary try again later in the day

bloody ticketek and their fun and games, and lack of communications. they could easily text people who register when extra allocations are made

Do we still have access to the social rooms on the day with our memberships? Regardless of where our seats are located of course

That's an ordinary response from the club.

They should be backing you and saying it's not good enough and that they will be demanding the AFL and Ticketeck fix these problems.

Not good enough.

Members that support teams and the competition through thick and thin deserve to be looked after.

F you AFL and Ticket Toss.

The Club is very good at sorting out Ticket issues during the Home and Away Season but soon as Finals arrive the AFL has complete control and receives all of the funds. It has contracts in place with Ticketek and the MCC and nothing will improve until that contract is renegotiated. As an aside, we travel to interstate games each year and those grounds that use Ticketmaster are much easier to navigate.

Well if we make the Prelim and Grand Final, can safely say most of us won't be able to get seats even if we paid for reserved ones!

More members makes it harder to get seats. Double edged sword of more support!

If you haven't got a Premium seat from Ticketek you have no access to the rooms you are referring to.

Anyone else find that it takes forever to get through on a laptop but reasonably quickly on a mobile device?

Can't understand why...

Yep that’s what happened to me. I had both going.

Sounds like the M50-M52 bays will be full of Melbourne which is great. Just like home games.

Bring it on!

Did you eventually get through on the laptop?

Yup BA. We chose category 1 pricing however so don't know if that makes a difference. We're in the bay next to our regular home game seats in the Olympic Stand.

Woo P22 AFL reserve, was hoping for P21 but I also have 2 Medallion clubs in N19 so I am chuffed.

Hope I am not surrounded by South Melbourne grubs again in the AFL reserve

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front. They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
