I would get Harmes to play on Heeney. For me, he is their key playmaker. If we can shut him down I think we win.

Was at the Swans game last night. Don’t worry about Papley, Heeney is their most dangerous forward (including Buddy), he is so strong and is constantly on the move. Shut him down and it goes a long way to us winning.

Pig has had a great past few weeks, so he gets first crack.

Thanks.  My barcodes were there🙂

If for some reason members can't access their ticketmaster account check emails this afternoon for barcodes.

Had a look on Ticketmaster, barcode has ‘Ad’ (for adult) at the start of it, I assume that has to go in as well

Not sure thts how the finals system works. Dogs and Freo don’t go through to the Prelim

Correct Kick It   Loser of our game plays winner of Dogs vs Freo in Semi Final then winner vs Cats /Pies in Prelim.

Winner of our Qualifying Final game vs Swans awaits loser of Cats/Pies and winner of Lions/ Tigers in Semi Final result.

We host the Prelim Final at the G and winner then proceeds to GF.

Winner of GF at the G is Premiers in 2022.

Go Dees !!

I don't think the 'Ad' is needed but not sure.  Hopefully the system is smart enough to know from the barcode whether it is an adult, concession or junior membership.

By the way, while our membership details are held by Ticketmaster, the tickets for the MCG finals are sold by Ticketek:

Was so keen for this game until I read the sydney Bigfooty board to suss and they’re saying there’s no chance they lose this and we should be scared of them :(

Not going now

They're confident because their set of supporters have seen their club beat our club 10 of the last 13 times at the MCG, the most recent being this year.

Incorrect.  According to AFL website,  Loser of our game plays winner of Tiges vs Lions

D 35 are you serious?  If you are shame  on you They have been in about 20 out of 22 finals  series that's  why. We have played in about 7 in that time. We should have beaten Swans at G in Round 12 with dodgy umpiring and defence injuries in game.
Time  we put them to the sword!

Is anyone aware of how many tickets I can purchase with my barcodes, for context I'm a Trident member with 2x barcodes.

Any help on this would be amazing.

For this game its 10 per barcode.  (yes, true)  Checked with the club today.

Same.

I just want to clarify that the AFL and Ticketek in their wisdom are letting ALL club members of ALL competing clubs have access to tickets at the exact same time tomorrow?

I did some digging.

Us, Sydney, Geelong and Collingwood but only Priority 1 members all at 10am tomorrow.

Collingwood Priority 2 members from 10:30.

I predict the site will crash at 10:01am tomorrow.

The email from the Club says Ticketmaster. I'm guessing this 'members pre-sale' is them and the public sales are then Ticketek?

Luci - sign in to your membership account and your barcodes will be there. I did this earlier today, copied the barcodes and these were the same as those on my email when it turned up.

My email doesn't mention either agency but when clicking on the ''GET YOUR TICKETS" button it takes me to the Ticketek website.

I'm pretty sure Ticketek are the agency for the MCG.

Ok, I get what is happening.

That is the email address the club used to send the emails as that is where our membership details are help.

The ticketing info is in the body of the email.

What do you see in the body of the email?

Email sent by Melbourne Football Club

Looking forward to the joy of the Ticketek server crashing tomorrow morning. I've already cancelled my morning meetings.

Yeah, that is what it says...10 tickets per member.  So I guess they aren't expecting a lot of Sydney fans.  Nonetheless it seems a lot of tickets...

I rang the club, and yes one barcode can get you up to 10 tix for the Sydney game starting at 10am for all MFC members

I'd be amazed if this went off without a hitch, ticketek couldn't organise a chook raffle judging by how things have gone this year.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
