This is a look of a bloke that's already been told he's sacked.. Seriously feel for him, the treatment alone had been utterly pathetic.

Absolute disgraced of an organisation is Essendon.

Hopefully years of failure ahead. Entitlement is a b-tch.

This is why I wouldn't be putting the house on Geelong to win the flag just yet.

In 2022, Geelong played against teams in the current top 8 only 7 times. They haven’t played a current top 8 side twice. They also haven’t played a current top 8 side for 5 weeks and they’ve played West Coast and North twice.

Melbourne have played against current top 8 sides 10 times this year. We’ve played Freo, Collingwood and Brisbane twice, and only played West Coast and North once.

Never seen anything like it before. Hope this club burns in hell for all eternity.

If Walsh out i dont think Carlton can sustain all these injury problems any longer. They came out of the blocks running in R1  and didnt stop until they collapsed exhausted.

Looks like Collingwood might have this. Would be hilarious if hawks beat the The Bont Allstars.

I can't believe Walsh is out, worst news.

Both teams rolling the dice with players not fully fit.

Collingwood:  De Goey, Ginnivan

Carlton:  Williams

It should be a 'fight to the death' type game.  Just as well there is a two week break until the first final.

I'm tipping Carlton.

Ima be at the match today cheering on not Sydney with a group of DA-ers. We’ll be as loud today as we are at our own games. Well, almost.
GO SAINTS!!! ❤️🖤 🤍

Can you get King to kick straight WCW?

Walsh out is a blow but he did nothing last week anyway. Lets just hope the hawks can beat dogs as I think Carlton played their final last week. I hate to say it but the filth will probably win. Unlike others I would like to play the filth first up and to give those low life amoebas a good thrashing.

Might go for Carlton to just lose and the Dog to win by one point not enough to make it. Give the saints something to play for.

BBO in disguise?

Hawthorn look horrible.  Carlton will need to win if they want to make it.

Nice to see future Melbourne FF Naughton kick the first goal.

Which is why I respect both Melk and Hibbo.
Both had the gonads to leave.

And Paddy Ryder. He didn't mince his words

I love watching David Rodan as goal umpire. Always looks like he's having a blast

No fan of Hawthorn and hate to say this but Mitchell has them playing an exciting brand of footy. Superb transition from D50 for that goal.

And no fear taking on the risky kick into the corridor

We should offer their squad use of our bullseye just for today. Or perhaps not, it hasn’t always worked for us.

😬

I thought Kent was to play his 100th and last game? He is named as emergency.

surely they wouldn’t insult him by having him as sub for a fake ‘game’

Would prefer the doggies to win this purely to ensure Carlton need to win against the Pies. Finals on the line makes that a massive game. And I want carlton and the pies to belt 7 bells out of each other

Walsh is a late out for Carlton, sadly helping the Filth.

Is this confirmed??

Sorry a bit off topic but arises out of the dogs hawks match.  An example of the AFL not thinking clearly about the rules they come up with.
A player is on the ground and an opponent pushes the ball under him hoping to get a holding the ball free for pulling it in. The umpire tells them he is not paying the free.  Quite right. But why not penalise the player who pushed it under?  The “pulled the ball” in rule was instituted to stop players holding up play. Whether you pull or push the effect is to do just that. So it should be a free against whoever did the action to hold up play.  Why not?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
