I suspect that T Mac may play limited minutes for Casey. He joined the main training session this week. Boom or bust.

T / Mac  Good call.

Interstate VFL...It must be costing the AFL a fortune in airfares not to mention AFLW as well. Do they stay overnight in hotels before an 11.35am kick off. They'd have to.

Anyone know how   all these travel expenses work out.

I would find 11.35am a weird time for an under 11s game to start. For a marquee fixture in the country's 2nd biggest league to start at that time is just bizarre.

That said, it would fit in perfectly with the joke that is this competition to have the first final to be played at 4:17pm on a Tuesday.

Shame the VFL game isn't a curtain raiser.

Even when they are they aren't because they are required to finish around 45 minutes before the first bounce. The numbers there even for the last quarter are insignificant.

I actually like the use of the old inner suburban heritage grounds. Unfortunately Casey played at very few of them this year. Port Melbourne, Coburg and Windy Hill are probably my favourites. Frankston and Williamstown on a wind free day are also great

It was a good atmosphere at the Frankston ground this year. The locals were vocal and good fun...but I stood on other side.

Definitely advisable at Frankston. Must be something in the water down that way. Old Port supporters can be interesting but alas not many of them left.

Forgot to give an honourable mention to Box Hill Oval.. lovely grassed areas

Do they need a loss before finals?  I don't think so and I hope not.  An undefeated season is something to grasp when a team gets the chance.

Top of the table clash. Lions on home deck and strong team as well.  Together with Southport, Lions are probably the closest threat to Casey. Sunny 22c day forecast tomorrow so beautiful conditions for footy. Go the CASEY Demons.

Another chance for Smith to show what he can do up front.

You'd hope that it is not an opportunity to 'show what he can do up front' but instead, an opportunity to practise and solidify what he will be doing/is being instructed to do up front in the AFL finals .

Same-same in my book. Show what he can do with coach's instructions etc

My guess is that the squad will all get on a BNE-MEL charter flight with the Coburg boys who start at the same time against Southport.

Last night’s sub James Jordon played less than a full quarter last night. Does that mean he can still play today for Casey?

Yes I was wondering about that. Given we have plenty of Dees to cover, it’s less likely.  But surely if they want, then  he (and Mitch Robinson) should be able to play. They got little game time and assume they’d be better for the run.
