How did we lose to the Dogs?

Was thinking as much, not that this justifies the results but was probably the Dogs best game of the season and the Pies of their 11 game streak.

This mob knocked us off. Gee. Everyone lifts against us. They are pathetic atm and playing for finals.

North hit the lead, surely pick 1 is worth more to a new coach than showing a big late.

No way...... You play to win. Look at the problems North is having with its 2021 1 st draft pick.  Avoiding the wooden spoon far more important. Top picks might feel happy at North if they finish the year strongly.

You do, but where was this at the start of the season. Too little to late.

If they land Clarko the wheel will turn 180 from day 1.

Watched some of the Bulldogs v GWS match. Free kick Bulldogs (and conversely no free kick GWS) directive being implemented.

On the plus side a Bulldogs loss gives Carlton less incentive.

5metre kicks what maggots

I assume umps got Bulldogs over the line.

Well, silver lining to a loss tonight is that the Dogs will be freed from the desire to play finals…

It is amazing that half a GWS side, with nothing to play for, lose to Dogs at their home, playing for finals, by less than a goal.

Cats showing no mercy against the Suns at the moment. Could get ugly.

Honestly, it seems like Freo, Sydney, Bulldogs, Pies all played the games of their seasons against us... a nice easy one against Carlton would seem fair and reasonable.

Nope watch the Blues lift for the performance of the last 20 years. Let’s just hope we can counter it.

I expect finals like intensity from the boys tonight. can't afford any more slip-ups

Suns checked out as they usually do for early end of season R&R. Practice game for Geelong.

Can only hope it lulls them into blunted state come finals.

Eagles at the Cattery next week. Too easy for them.

Minor premiership for Cats = fools gold.

Soft draw.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
