Losing to these Cats in a GF is a thought I cannot handle, let alone the reality

A good mate of mine, who is a Pies fan, said he hasn’t gone to footy since 2018 as he couldn’t deal with that loss. It hurt him that bad, he goes on about Buckley playing Aish and him fkking up etc.

it worries me. Oiled up Danger and Joel lifting the cup having beaten us. I dunno, it might break me

In all honestly I’d rather get beaten by Geelong in a GF who have a percentage of 136 rather than Collingwood who have a percentage of  just 106.

Whilst I’ve admired what Collingwood have done this year, Geelong are simply the better side and I’d rather lose to the more highly credentialed side in Geelong.

I hear ya but I don’t see Collingwood as any sort of threat. If I did I agree with you

if we lose to the Pies in a final well, we just aren’t a good side at all

Some of the finest lyrics ever penned by an Australian…

Absolutely everybody

You can just picture her tirelessly working in the studio thinking ‘what rhymes with breathes, oh yeah… needs’.

Has nothing on these (albeit not by an Australian):

"I don't want to see a ghost

It's a sight that I fear most

I'd rather have a piece of toast…"

I dunno. That would hurt so much worse than a smashing

Yeah true..

But lets be honest.. we did enjoy watching Collingwood choke a grand final by under a kick 😆

You mean the past tense of ‘hang’ right? ‘Hung’ is already past tense. 😉

Also, who the hell uses the word ‘Bah!’ who’s not Uncle Scrooge?

"Bah humbug" originating , from Dr. Zachary Smith is still part of my vocab WCW😉

I wasn’t worried about ‘21 Geelong like I am ‘22 Geelong and that’s not even factoring us into it. At the moment they give Dees ‘21 a run for their money.

Perhaps the G will be the deciding factor but our form on that ground hasn’t been stellar this year so perhaps it’s not such an advantage.

I find it amazing and I know bookies and the betting market don't mean a great deal, but straight after the Cats game last night Melbourne was made Flag fav with all the betting agency's.

Great seeing Carlton Choke big time😉

In 1994, when the Eagles thumped us in the prelim, I desperately wanted the Cats to win the GF the next week.

In 2018, I was Eagles all the way. When I heard on the radio broadcast on the way home that Sheed had kicked the goal to sink them, I let out a little whoop.

While there are plenty of sycophants pumping up Geelong in the commentary box, the Collingwood supporters are now getting unbearable.

Thankfully for us, there are plenty of teams in the 8 who have been their traditional September tormentors (Carlton, Geelong, Brisbane and us).

I’m definitely not a big advocate of a Carlton premiership at all, but seeing them roll Collingwood in a close one in a GF yet again and Eddie turning the color of Kermit the Frog’s armpit would be worth the price of admission. Even better of course would be us beating them (and the ferals dusting off their big book of s*** Range Rover and snow jokes to cope).

Since last Friday night’s Richmond’s V Freo we’re 0-7-1 in terms of hoping for top 4 contenders to lose.

We cannot get a result to save ourselves.

Hopefully Brisbane slip up today to finally have a non MFC result go our way.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but was interesting hearing Ginnivan speak openly after the game. The constant media on him has been way over the top. He admits it’s taking its toll on his mental health.

on one hand, it’s great that we are getting to a place where young men are happy to talk about this stuff. On the other hand, it’s sad he has to cop all this stuff. Sure he has played for frees which is not good, but he is young and he will learn to stop

Try Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens' 1843 novel "A Christmas Carol".

Poor old Ginnivan expressing concerns about his mental health. I’ll give some advice.

Change your ways. How about not continually trying to seek out free kicks every bloody time you are near the ball by dropping your knees you little piece of $h!t.

Talk about mental health concerns. I didn’t think I could hate the Filth anymore (particular focus on the vast majority of their moron supporters that attend their games and one player, guess who?) than what I have over pretty much most of my life.  I was wrong.

Pity it comes out the week before we play them. Hope the lad is ok, but don’t want Pies getting extra soft frees on the back of it. Their crowd will guarantee the usual good run anyway.

Im amazed people are jumping on the Jeee-long bandwagon.

Does anyone think Scott wants to face Melbourne in the QF on the MCG?

He'll be praying we finish 2 or 3 or outside the top 4.

As for some  DL  posters feeling sorry for  Ginnivan. You cant be serious. I hope Hibberd pile drives him.

Do you think Collingwood give a damn about us.

Jack Watts says...hi.

Agree, also re Ginivans mental health, brought on by no one else but himself. Polarising player!

No, but even if I was it wouldn’t rival you in terms of cringe: you openly admitted to buying a Rick Astley album. 🤣

And you volunteered the info unashamedly.

Look WCW, I once voted for the *%^&$#@!* Party. Not up there with Rick Astley, I admit, but we all have had our moments of madness and share of skeletons in the washrooms.

I don’t mind Shooter McGinnivan and his lairising. Media attention way over the top playing the man not the ball. Same focus on Selwood? Nnnnope.

collingwood are becoming unbearable but the media attention is good - the pressure will ratchet up.

I’d rather not lose to Collingwood or Geelong in any final but especially not Collingwood

if it has to be someone, Freo or Lions I think.

There’s a big difference between being a lair and polarising fans and the over the top media focus

anyway

there's not one FTA game on today in Northern NSW - disgrace

Blockbuster game about to start. Suns v Weagles

Another big promo game for  Gil Mc Lacklan to show off to his corporate yank friends.

Sooner he's gone the better.

Agree, he really goads me. His antics were that bad (and obvious) that the umpires had to reinterpret the rule for head high tackles.

And the way he hammed it up to the crowd. Huge risk and now he is paying the price.
Perhaps  he should have been told by the Collingwood hierarchy  many weeks ago to pull his head in just even a little (excuse the pun).  But of course they didn’t do a thing.

As I said in an earlier post, he can choose to change his ways. This I think will be very difficult to do because the Filth crowd erupt into a frenzy every time he goes near the footy.

As someone said in a earlier post, it will be interesting to see how the umpires treat him this coming Friday.  And I wonder why I hate Collingwood so much.😡

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
