GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Sydney

Featured Replies

Need an enormous response.

Players again going into their shell. Second to contests and fumbling. And the desperation acts aren't helping because we're getting sucked in to the contest again like last week and Sydney have better shape around the ball.

Trac and Clarry need to stand up as does Ben Brown, Salem, Tomo, Mitch Brown, Hunt.

Not good enough.

Our delivery to Ben Brown has been pathetic.

We kick it to a contest every time in our forward line and he’s not that kind of forward.

How many times have we hit him on a lead of late?

Here we go. We’ve owned the premiership quarter barring last week.

Tomlinsom has been unmatchable, Ben Brown can't get near it, Salo rusty, beaten at our own game that quarter.

There's a reason for that....none have played at this level for a while and the Swans are coming off a great come back win.  Tails up.  Hold judgement till the 2nd half.  Takes a while to pick up AFL pace.

In the end it will come down to winning the mid field battle

OK, I got up, had a cold drink, vented my frustration, and now ready for the 2nd half.

Our midfield looks hesitant and faulty, our forward 50 looks clunky and dysfunctional. Swans have goals from Reid who is getting free kicks for nothing, and another goal from a kick out of a pack which lands in the lap of another forward. And yet we are 2 points down.

I think we might actually be OK.

WTF was that for

26-12 hit outs, yet losing clearances………no connection in the forward line or middle atm.

Why do we continue to appear to have most leads (and pretty much all TFs) going wide to the pockets?

Easier for us to set up our defence.

We have almost overcorrected, prioritising our defence way more than our offensive game.

At the bounce to start this quarter Gawn had a clear tap but went the no-look over his head straight to a Sydney player.

Petracca fumbles again

We're wrestling this back back onto our terms

Real arm wrestle ATM

Get Kozzie on the ball

Really letting ourselves down with crappy turnovers

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
