Kynan Brown 2023, Noah Yze 2024, Kalani White and Jake Brown 2025.

Others in later years, eg White twins around 2029ish.

Donโ€™t forget the Davey boys coming thru!

Is Shane still running around?

My god he was another genuine freak at suburban level when he got delisted from North..

I think they both played last season in the Northern yeah. I remember always checking the scores to see him kick at least 6 every single game, nuts.ย

Kicked his 1000th NFNL/DVFL goal early last year in roughly 12(?) seasons!

Noah has been named for his debut for the Oakleigh Chargers this Sunday against Brisbane Lions Academy.

Game is played at Highgate Recreation Reserve in Craigieburn

Starting at full forward.

DId he have another brother Yzier who was a handy forward as well or are they the same person?ย

Damien Peverill played reserves for us and a lot of people thought he was Adem's brother. Maybe him?

Noah made his debut today as a bottom age player for the Oakleigh Chargers against Brisbane.

There was some good glimpse from Noah today who gathered 10 disposals and kicked 1.1.ย

He's listed at 189cm tall but being a bottom age player and still growing he could end up around the 191-192cm mark by mid next year where he'll be eligible for the 2024 AFL draft.

Nothing says Oakleigh vs Brisbane like... Craigieburn.

I wonder if Adem would step away from coaching at Melbourne if/when Noah joins the club????

I hope not BBBang, I am hoping that he eventually takes over from Goody.!!

Hmmm, think Damien Peverill play for Essendon?ย  but might have been on our list.

Adem had a brother Damien who played in the VFL.... was on the MFC supplementary list. (Older brother I think)ย

any more news on how Noah went this year?

I wouldnโ€™t get my hopes up too high with Noah. Didnโ€™t stand out at school level with Caulfield Grammar, would be a romantic story to have him as a father / son but I think he will be another Kobe Farmer that is not quite good enough for AFL level.ย

Is he year 12 this year? Under-age at oakliegh - so young for year12 or he yr 11 in which case I wouldn't be to concerned about standing out this year

He is year 11 this year so another year in the system. Would need to do more to make it, hope he does. Genuinely hope we draft his teammate Nick Watson though.

Been playing up forward for Oakleigh is my information?

Heard Watson's year at School level.has been absolutely through the roof.

Not sure about Oakleigh but plays forward for Caulfield. Watson is a dead set star that can play midfield, could play back pocket but is lethal around goals. Quick, X factor, forward pressure, makes good decisions with the ball. Has a bit of Brent Harvey about him but I think with more tricks. For mine he is exactly what we need. Not ready to play AFL midfield now but would put him straight into our forward line. Would play front and square and compliment Kossie or allow Kossie more midfield time to give us a more dynamic look. Could allow Chandler to maybe play wing and put pressure on Langdon / Hunter who I think have been underwhelming this year until Howes and Woey Jnr are ready or the latter two could maybe transition into the backline.ย

Good intel - agree with the wing summation: we arenโ€™t getting enough dynamically from either winger this year. Add some speed and ball use to the wings and it would lift our game considerably, I believe. I wonder if Rivers could be an answer on the wing or maybe Kozzie, if he has the tank? In which case, a recruit like Martin would be fantastic to shore up that small tricky forward position.

Watson has starred anywhere he plays when I've watched him. Seen him moved back for a quarter/half and seen him carve up opposition and rack up disposals at will.

I wonder what the long term plan is for Howes. Think he played more wing/forward role at Sandy but obviously serving an apprenticeship down back with us largely as a loose 3rd defender. Was close to getting a game in his first season allegedly then I don't think has been an emergency at all this year despite racking up high numbers. Clearly the club want him to work on something.

As for Noah, didn't really get going this year on the limited times I've seen him. But has another year in the talent pathway and you never know where he might end up with some development.

Agree with everything you have said here. Watson plays with a chip on his shoulder almost. He is short but height or lack thereof-is not an obstacle for him and I think that internally he just wants to prove the doubters wrong. He is a star, he knows it but plays with a โ€œhealthy arroganceโ€ that the true greats have. Genuinely hope we will call out his name as he will become a cult hero and immediate difference maker for us or wherever he goes.

One plus for Melbourne about father Ademโ€™s appointment as Richmond coach is that it frees Noah up as a potential father/son draft prospect without the added pressure of having his dad at the club.ย

The rate he's going he'll be lucky to get on an AFL list.

Top age next year so still water to go under the bridge but he'll need to put in a big off season to put himself into draft calculations.ย

Some players are late developers. For most kids its a fairly big step up from 1st to 2nd year Under 18's in terms of development.

So i will watch his development next season.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.
