NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022

Since security was clearly going to be inadequate some Swans players should have got boundary side of him before he kicked it. Given the lead it wouldn’t matter if somehow that led to a Geelong goal after a mis kick or kickin.

He handled it so much better than I would.
I would have had a full on panic attack. Would have also been good if someone could hand him a mask. All I kept thinking is COVID!

You only get covid in WA atm because you know .... Science.

Buddy handled that with class. Had a hundred drunk blokes hands in his face. I think he has struggled with anxiety in the past? I don’t know how he coped with that without losing it

Mark McGowen has already declared Buddy a hot spot.

Dunkley at end sums up Dogs for me. Flops with contact on mark trying to milk a fifty rather than moving ball into open forward line. Fortunately the acting failed he had to kick and choked again

This is the Dog's Achilles Heel.

They have been trained to think that any cheating effort will result in a soft free.

I'm very thankful that the cheating, ducking, throwing era has only resulted in a single flag. It doesn't look like changing any time soon.

It’s not like this was unexpected. How ill-prepared these clowns were.

It’s all so Sydney. Everyone feeling a million bucks running around under lights after a few too many drinks. But then it’s 3 hours on public transport to get home to the house you’ll be paying off until your 147.

10,000 idiots all trying to get to the one point as quickly as possible. This is how crowd crushes happen, which can see people asphyxiate on their feet. Nuts.

This waiting around would be agony for the Cats. I should record this and watch again

So much for Geelong's new 'territory' game plan.

Geelong aren't coping with pressure.

They look stuck between their old game 'control' game plan and their new one.

Their stars have old legs...they will beat up lesser teams but struggle against good teams.

Selwood is still good when around the ball and he uses it really well, the trouble is he can't get to enough contests when the ball is moving around quickly. Gone on a year too long...

....and he's not on his own.

Doesn't feel as long as the 30 seconds max took to kick that goal in round 23 last year.

50 minute qr and counting.
Might beat our lightning game record 😈

Just saw the footage of Tuohy flattening a spectator, not a good look...

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
