As I said. Something is NQR. I can’t put my finger on it. Is everyone in this side just in it for the cash? They seem so devoid of passion. Greene that dweeb is the only player with genuine passion but he’s a tool who can’t keep himself away from suspension.

I know exactly what you mean. It's like the majority of the players wish they had  been drafted to another club but have accepted their fate. Like its genuinely just a job to most of them.

They really should have won 2 premierships with the talented list they have.

The 1000 goal game was a myth this week as we all know but they couldn't stop promoting it.

With 4 goals still to go I doubt Buddy will crack it next week either against Geelong (Friday night prime time of course).

Perhaps against the Bulldogs at Docklands the following week

I dunno. On paper they are so talented but I don’t rate their coach. They’ve had a gun team for so long but something is just NQR.

Why isn’t Cameron under more scrutiny?  Probably something to do with the “free press” and AFL media licensing.

Soulless GW$, after more than decade, nobody even living in Greater Western Sydney gives a toss about them.
This is why there is so much Gambling Advertising shoved down our throats.

I am not taking too much from the game. A rivalry has built up so they will often put in their best efforts. Commentary was sending me nuts so I had to turn over and watch Lanning bat for half the time.

Brissy I think are the ones to watch as are port so  will keep a close interest to that game.

I liked that decision. Disposed of it cleanly despite spinning like a top, so it wasn't an effective tackle.
It makes the umpires job easier.

Early days but neither Brisbane (my early tip for GF opponent) or Port look anywhere near top 4 material based on the first quarter of this game.

They don't have to be "effectively" tackled. For a legal tackle they only have to be held, body or jumper.

For how long? That's the key to the interpretation. For simplicity, I am happy for a tackle to be considered ineffective if it doesn't prevent the player from legally disposing the ball.

Seen it happen at least 3 times this round and not paid

That said, saw a 360 paid last night with game on the line! Love the consistency…

prior: must dispose immediately

no prior: within a "reasonable" time

Not a shot at you, but the concept of "interpretation" of the rules is bogus and should be removed from the game.

I can't stand Joe Daniher - constantly with his hands outstretched pleading for the free. Why not just win the ball mate?

By various interpretations of "immediately", Trac was holding the ball when Bont tackled him in the last passage of play in the 3rd quarter of the GF. He disposed of the ball, but was it "immediately"?

Immediately is inherently subject to interpretation, because it ranges from planck time through to human reaction time through to a second through to…whatever.

This is one bizarre game.

It's hard going from the GWS v Sydney game to this.

well - not really

even if we'd nominated him there was no way gw$ wouldn't match the bid

and if they hadn't we wouldn't have dogga and i'll definitely take dogga over the mini-clayton that is tom green

Perhaps, although as already mentioned, GWS may have been happy to snap up Dogga. I'm sure glad we did.

I think i'll wait until after Buddy kicks his 1,000th goal before I watch Sydney play again. It'll be a great feat for sure but i'm already over the commentators incessantly talking about it.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
