Poor footy. No intensity at all. For round 1 it is a bit strange. Saints have too many players missing. Brad Hill looks like a disgrace out there.

St Kilda's missing Ryder, Billings, Geary, Jones, Hannebery (but lol does he ever play?) and Clark.

Collingwood is at full strength I believe.

Makes a difference, but still, St Kilda don't look very good at all.

Won't have a coach soon enough if this garbage continues.  Ratten would be odds on for first coach to be sacked this year.

No resistance at all from the Aints.  Still, will over pump the Magpies.

Great fixturing for Friday night round 1, Gillon.

32 inside fifties to the pies.

21 scoring shots

wow.

What an amazing turn around.

Cmon Saints, do it for Warnies family (and for all others, the joy it will give us seeing the Pies supporters get their hearts ripped out!)

I said earlier the Saints have zero small fwds and it holds. Not having a dig but I hope Higgins has been finishing his VCE/getting an education/setting himself up post footy as it’s coming fast.

How did Warnies' be daughter allowed to barrack for the pies?

Gee tuned out of the 3rd quarter because I thought it was game over. Checked the scores and will be watching the 4th. Come one saints.

How's the messiah Daicos going?

This is turning into a really good battle of the cellar dwellers.

Happy for Jack Hayes. But not nearly as happy as his mates in the crowd. 😁  Not sure that’s even possible.

I don't know which is more impressive. His game or the bowl cut / mullet combo he's sporting

I’m just here for the Mason Cox fashion show.
Loving the matching knee high socks and elbow bands. Chanel is turning in her grave.

Never fear BbO

Saints got this

pretty sure?

Looks very green

How did Higgins miss that. King will hopefully find his kicking boots in the final term. Turn the behinds into more goals.

You can visit them every day if you wish  brisbane and Whorethorn were much better sides imo

2 Flags against interstate Clubs, with an incredible run of Home games at The MCG and 1 against the ageing Handbags.
3 Flags, good luck to them, they are in the cabinet, but I don’t consider it a great Dynasty

How was Hawthorn any better then Richmond if you say that Richmond won theirs against interstate teams?

Hawthorn won all their premierships against interstate teams.

Such a meat and potatoes game this. Close, but meh.

He’s a “cult hero” apparently 🙄

Been around for five minutes and already he’s a cult hero. At this rate he’ll be “a legend” before the end of this match.

Hawthorn won theirs while the rest of the comp was hobbled by the compromised draft with the introduction of both GWS and GC IMO.
Meanwhile they cherry picked clubs filling their needs with player looking for "success".
Found themselves in the right place at the right time.
Similar story Geelong.
There's a reason those 2 were on top so long.

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
