6-year-olds sorted. 🙂

I'll have a Range Rover thanks. Already have the stickers for it. Unfortunately it won't stand out where I live. Dime a dozen.

To be fair. Most of the day will be the match being played on the screen. You will likely only miss Robbo and his band’s half time performance. You’ll most likely get to see the presentation of medals and the cup and all the speeches on social media/YouTube.

Yeah I know

just wanted to feel part of it…

With Barassi unfortunetly out of the celebrations due to COVID-19, I hope to see John Beckwith or Hasa Mann get the opportunity to present the cup.

I ran into Beckwith in the MCC quite a few years ago, posibly 2012, and realised a week or so later who I was sitting next to and talking to. He was quite the gentleman.

That would be cool….

or will we give that honour to Jonesy?

Yep. This is what I'm mostly attending for, the thing I missed the most - sharing with others our long-awaited victory.

Let's be loud and proud!

Night demons fans. Got my premiership t shirt laid out to wear tomorrow. How good will it be going to the G to watch a grand final & we already know we've won.

Good day weather wise & I can't wait. Love to hear from Maxy again.

Who do you reckon will get the biggest cheer when getting there medal? I reckon it will be close between max & trac

Can't wait for tomorrow...oops - today! (Sunday 5 December)! I can't sleep. So excited to be able to share the joy of our drought breaking Grand Final premiership win with all of you at the G. WELL DONE to all who have helped to make this happen. You know who you are. You are all legends. See you, and HEAR you today! GO DEES!

I think so.

Jake Bowey the youngest living premiership player??

I'm going to be getting there about 11:30-12. Will I miss much?

My wife and grandson are heading in shortly I had knee surgery on the 19th and can’t go (wwaaaaasaa) so will be checking out the action from home, very disappointed.!!!

Remember when you were young (you shone like the sun 🙃) and, having spent forever leading up to xmas in full-blown excitement, you wake on xmas morning and after an hour or so you’re like ‘now what?’ in a way today is like that except the complete exact opposite. 😁 There’s no end to this joy. This is better than a bazillion xmases and birthdays put together! ❤️💙

Would it’ve killed your doc to have checked the footy calendar??? 😑

but bad luck on missing out on today. Be sure to tell your doc you’re SO not available on Weds March 16, 2022!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
