i don't know. Maybe not but i think when a player has decided to move to a new team, if push comes to shove, he'll act in his new teams best interests rather than the old team.

If Freo budge from their current offer (i highly doubt it) I'm pretty sure it won't be because of prompting from LJ or his camp

Around here that degree of insight makes you a rocket scientist .

It's starting to make me laugh

We just need WC to make some sort of competitive bid for Jackson and Freo will up their offer.  The spectre of a WC flag with Jackson is too nightmarish for Freo to survive.

This might upset a lot of people, but in my experience, very often fans hurt more than players at losses.

Further, very often fans are more invested in their club, than some of the players.

Yeah they are professionals  , but that is why it's a bit irritating when they so quickly forget the professional responsibility that comes with the opportunities and big  wages.

Unless there is an exceptional reason a high draft pick on 750+K probably  "professionally " owes at least 5 years to his Club.

Why would WC do that?

F*^k with Freo's minds and make their state competitor pay a higher price.

That's not going to happen.

If we get a top 10 pick it'll be our own doing using the picks they give us.

Either is a WC Jackson premiership 🧐

You don't know that so don't put it in print and lower the tone of this debate.

And as for culture breaker - really.? He was a cog in a great team season in 2021. Lesser impact this year.

Trac, Clarry, Viney et al........ - now there are  the culture leaders that everyone follows.

He's still a kid barely 22. None of us know his personal priorities and should not take his ambition to return home personally IMO

You’re projecting what I do and do not know. I respectfully request that you keep your own inane summations to yourself

This man is not as it all seems….posters on here say ‘there, there’ and ‘thanks for your service’ but I’ll say one thing - he will never set foot in the club again

Wrong! He will come back for premiership reunions, with good will, hugs and celebration..

You want to put money on that Sunshine?

Do you really think they have nothing better to do?

Assuming they agree with the scribes opinion of various lists.

I thought Melbourne had an unbeatable Dynasty ..

I guess they had no idea...much like the fantasies that were posted on here most of last year

WC will just do what gets them the  players they want.

Death, taxes and good old mumbo Jumbo throwing his toys out of the cot again with a massive tantrum as always.

‘The coach has the full backing of the entire board’

Lol

Next minute….

You’ll be the Guy on the Door telling LJ to

“Go away, you’re not welcome here anymore”

Who would know what your agenda is, but just stop now, don’t be so disrespectful to a Premiership Player who actually has a legitimate reason to go home, that has nothing to do with The MFC

Do you know when did this legitimate reason arise ?  During the last 12 months?

No I don’t Sue, but if what I have been told is true, it is purely a family matter

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
