Premiership DVD and victory pack

Does anyone have a friend or spouse who bought a recent premiership DVD? How much do they show? How much of the post-pre game show do they feature? Anything else that we might see?

Also, I’m almost peeing my pants to see our season highlights DVD. Just think, our first one since 2002. So many memorable moments this year. It’s a DVD I’d love to have even if we’d lost. Problem is, nowadays you only get them if you win

I think my preference will be to order through the club, to keep the profits in house.  I am however looking forward to seeing the AFL premiers DVD all over the shelves at JBHiFi, Kmart etc.  Will be some gratifying moments looking at that shelf full of Demons premiers DVDs instead of another side like Hawthorn, Geelong, Brisbane, Richmond or West Coast for once in my life.

I did see it up on our shop initially but its not there anymore. Do you know if they will be relisting this? As this is probably new territory for all of us, i am hopeful that they have some additional features over and above the game.

I've purchased the DVD because I'm a sucker. I may as well have purchased it on Laser Disc or 35mm as I'll be able to watch it the same number of times.

The DVD should come with a USB drive so I can actually watch it on a medium that I still have access to.

Yeah, I don't know.  I have Kayo, so have been watching that on repeat for now and in no great hurry.

As you suggest, I'm also kind of hanging out for something with exclusive content to be released in the future as well.

Id pay top dollar for a streamable/downloadable 4k version with all radio commentary options, and pre/ after match interviews that I could buy through Google Play or Apple TV or something and watch on any device

100%. The only issues id see here is licensing and use of the other radio streams. All roads lead back to the AFL so im sure they are on top of this.

Id also like to see an audio option where the team & coaching panel do some commentary - almost like a 'directors cut' type of thing.

Not sure 4K would be an option as the channel 7 camera's at the ground are probably not capable of that level yet given they still broadcast in a poor man's HD (720p) format.

Someone told me I should look for the '4k edition'.

Does anyone know what that means? Is it the winning margin?

It would be good if you could select one of the various radio commentaries on the DVD to watch the game instead of Ch 7

One of the lads over on BF has stitched the radio commentary from MMM, SEN, 3AW, K Rock and ABC to the Ch 7 video. It makes great replay watching with the different audio tracks. SEN particularly good with Gerard Whately and Anthony Hudson.

I’m going to order this (it’s in Blu-Ray). Why are the Victory packs only in DVD? Why is anyone still selling DVD?

The only problem with those BF Synchs is that they are about 1 second “out” the audio is definately 1 second delayed.
versions on YouTube are much better

I ordered the blu-ray through the club immediately after the game. I assume it's the same product. The box art says it includes alternate radio calls, so I don't need to worry about sinking it up with the YouTube videos I have bookmarked

I've got the DVD. It starts with the Bulldogs entering the field (so no pre-game discussion or pre-match entertainment). The post-match includes our lap of honour and the accompanying Channel 7 interviews and ends with us singing the song in the rooms. There is one video bonus feature - a 12 minute highlights reel of our games from Round 1 to the Prelim. There's only the Channel 7 audio.

Otherwise, it's pretty no frills in terms of features. But the good thing is that the Demons kick 16 of the last 17 goals every time you watch it!

I would so love this.

My Beastie Boys anthology DVD does something very similar in that you can watch one of their most excellent music videos and switch camera angles, alternate directors cuts and remixes/ edits of the track itself seamlessly. It's keeewl!

The GF DVD does have the alternate radio commentaries you can play select while watching the game.

I think what @Dee man
dee man meant was the 12 minute season highlights only had the channel 7 commentary

I've just checked again, and my version definitely doesn't have alternate radio commentaries during the game. When I try to select different audio options on my remote during the game, only one option is available. This is the version I've got - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/afl-premiers-2021-melbourne-demons-2021-dvd

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
