So it's part of the MCC but not run by the MCC?

Correct, the football club has a separate board but still gets some help from the cricket club. Years ago the MCC was more hands on, but no more.

Any reason as to why The MFC hasn't tried to sever it's ties with The MCC?

It did for a time, but returned to the fold when Jim Stynes was MFC president. If you look at the history of the football club you’ll find why they are so closely tied.

Can we quit the dictator Dan [censored]?

The same 'dictator' to be democratically elected in a landslide.

If like this year we're still flogging three game memberships deep into the season then we could top 80k I think.

So we finally won a Grand Final.

Im still drifting between drunk and hungover and have spent up big on club merch. I know im not alone, and many would have spent much more than me going by the jumper auctions online. This premiership will do so much for the club that its effects will be felt for years.

One of the huge improvements should be club membership next year. Lets see who can get closest to the official figure.

53,706 was this years total and we will break that by a long way.

My guess for next year is 67,500.

Whats yours?

53k is great in this horrible covid time.

Your guess sounds good but may be higher depending on covid.

Another year like this one and fans free to flock to the G could see 70 plus.

This could be a decade of success on and off the turf.

Thanks for the information.   I've always wondered about the MCC connection.

Breaking news….

2022 memberships have dropped.

GF guaranteed are still available.

I got my beautiful fiancé a general admission with GF guaranteed attached. Put her on waiting list for Redlegs.

[censored] yes,

Carn the Dees!!!!

Prediction: 64,2021 😉

I wonder how much work we’ve been doing (and can do) with the Chinese and Multicultural community that we had been doing so well at during 2018. That seems to have dropped off the radar a bit in the club’s communications.

That being said, there’s no better recruitment tool than actual winning! 😄

Hi all looking for some feedback on 2022 memberships. Looking to upgrade and wanted some ideas on best options.

i like the idea of being in the Olympic Stand but don’t like being at ground level. Not a huge fan of the SOuthern Stand as we seem to be away from the crop of Melbourne supporters.

In the Olympic Stand the Q section Is the top tier and according to the seat map is public admission. Is this available to the home membership (base level)? If so are there any additional charges on the day as opposed to the southern stand)?

Q2 is there a trident family equivalent or at least a junior variation to the membership? If so Is this considered reserved seating as it appears to be a waiting list involved here. Not sure I’ll get access to this though.

any other options? Looking to spend ball park $500 for myself and son (10 yo) and optionally mrs.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
