I can’t find the link to it but the 1988 was sensational. It was by far the best poster he did for us.

Now that he’s selling them and if by some chance we do lose, is he going to reuse it again if we make another one?

Well our record in Grand Finals is really pretty good, so in theory they've only got four up their sleeves.

1958 which they've  obviously used for this year. The year 2000 which we've seen someone show already. So that just leaves 1988 and 1954 as the other options.

He told me that weg did several of each team before he died. That way they only need to add the year.

If you look closely, he has tweaked that Demon. He’s made it a bit thinner, his forehead, made him darker red, etc. I don’t have any real problems with that, but if they’re tweaking, why didn’t they make the last fork on the pitchfork the same size? It makes it less obvious what he’s doing in the poster.

Love this idea for the wall, but screw having a giant herald sun logo in my house. That paper can get in the bin.

He is interviewed on 5he afl exchange podcasts and said the Demons marketing team had a few things to say.

No cheese platers.

No range rovers.

No skis.

Don't make the demon too red.

He sounded a bit miffed by it.

It’s pathetic that they still even mention those jokes. We’ve won the minor premiership and are favourites in the grand final. They’re redundant now. People are so used to Melbourne being the whipping boys, they can’t accept that its the direct opposite now. I wonder how long they went on about a Brisbane like this when they won their hat trick?
Sad really

I'm not usually a huge fan of the Knight posters (his Richmond ones were terrible) but I actually don't mind that Demons one.

A wegart one has also been released, basically rips off the unused 1958 one which doesn't make sense, would've preferred they went with the unused 2000 one.

It’s not being sold by us so doesn’t count. Don’t stress.

I would have preferred a little hair on his head, a bit more red, bigger/longer horns and I don’t know why the 1964 tattoo is there (was 1954 on the Dogs 2016 poster?) but otherwise I’m pretty happy. I mean it’s the best we could expect from Mark Knight. He’s no Weg.

Run to Melbourne!!!

I still have a 64 poster I  got from Mr Friedman’s paper shop, on that Saturday night,

folded and a little ripped, I had it plastic embalmed so it would not get worse.

still think the Weg posters are better.  Go Dees

I much prefer the '21 Weg edition to the Mark Knight one. I'll definitely get one I can frame but I'd prefer it didn't have the little Wegart logo that draws your eye to the bottom left corner. Those demons from our 1950's era look fantastic.

It doesn’t. The actual posters don’t. It a watermark to prevent people making their own copies without ordering it

Not bad! It looks pretty good. Would of liked the horns bigger!

I like the WEG style poster too. Although using the 1958 Grand Final WEG poster is a bit odd, I would of preferred the 2000 Grand Final WEG poster but that's just my own opinion.

Anyway, we will see what happens Saturday evening I guess? Fingers crossed! 🤞

GO DEMONS!!!

Like I said, hairs do more red would have been better. But we can’t blame him as we apparently requested less hair.

I’d happily put that on my wall. Got enough family photos there already

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
