Nothing else to do so let's watch footy!

I was hoping we might be a chance to be top by the end of this round but Giants who should be desperate for a spot in the finals have made 6 changes including 2 key players as 'managed'.  are they tanking? what a joke.  the Cats will smash them

Bombers might be a chance against the dags if they have an off day

Punting wise, I reckon North as worth a go, at least at the line.  Freo always tough to beat at home and will give the bears a run for their money

Artistic group swimming is on at the Olympics tonight.

Beats the hell out of watching Geelong beat GWS!

Hoping Adelaide can cause an upset in the showdown, but now their [censored] ex- captain is suspended due to being a racist loser, it's going to be tough.

Also hoping Essendon can cause an upset over the Dogs.

I give St Kilda absolutely no chance to beat Sydney.

The rest of the games are boring and irrelevant. Thank god for the Olympics and several hundred streaming services during lockdown.

Besides our game I think Richmond VS North and Freo Vs Brisbane are the most interesting.

Freo can keep their top 8 spot whilst Brisbane have been struggling. Who will take their opportunity?

North have been competitive and building well, Richmond are getting some names back.
Prestia was back to his usual last week and they really need McIntosh and Vlaustin back into that line up.

Geelong should take care of GWS easily (PS: How is Quintin Narkle not a regular in that team? would love to pick him up)

Port should take care of Adelaide easily without their racist captain. Wont win another game for the year.

Carlton should beat the suns easily if they play with pressure, but its Carlton so

Too many outs for St Kilda, No Marshall no Billings, No Howard. Buddy could get off the chain here

Hawthorn V Collingwood should be a competitive match, whoever wins the contested ball will win, I think Hawthorn just have the better midfield.

Bulldogs with Trelor back in will take care of the Heppell-less dons. Dons just aren't good enough for long enough and their forward line is the worst in the comp.

And then theres us, going up against West Coast which has been absoletly smashed in the media all week and Had DV retire. They should be fired up to compete against us, and we want our last top 8 scalp.

Unfortunately not much chance of any other top 4 team losing.

It's up to us.

For most teams the Eagles in present form are an easy scalp... still seeing 1 goal 6 from the last quarter when we were almost 100 points up

We’ll knock off the [censored] down at KP.

The Blues will be in the 8 if they beat the Suns tomorrow 😳

for about an hour but still 😂

Sydney are due a loss after 5 straight wins.

They wouldn't admit it but they could probably do with a late season slip up. Otherwise they'll need to go 12-0  if they want the flag. That hasn't happened in years.

That will be worth a giggle seeing Carlton in the 8, for 5 minutes.

Most things that Geelong do personnel wise confuse me, this is no exception.

But what about the notion that success breeds success that people bang on about on here...

(this thought, is in no way directed at you, just more of a general comment).

GWS will provide more evidence tonight to justify their moniker, Great Waste of Space

Can't see any surprises. Sydney Port Doggies Cats will all win comfortably. Don't care about the other games

Fair comment.

It's just that if Sydney are winning the flag this year they're probably going to have to go 12-0  (from round 16 onwards) which is extremely rare in not just the AFL but in all sports.

Going full pelt for the entirety of July and August isn't a recipe for success.

I'm hoping some patchy form by the Dees in June/July might re-ignite some hunger, which was on show for most of last week.

  • Demonland changed the title to NON MFC: Rd 21 2021

Extraordinary situation at the GWS Giants with injuries. Josh Kelly has now withdrawn with a quad injury which means they’ve made eight changes from last week's loss to Port Adelaide - Phil Davis (concussion), Jacob Hopper (concussion), Shane Mumford (back), Jesse Hogan (soreness), Tom Green (hamstring) Daniel Lloyd (ankle) and Sam Reid (ankle) already ruled out during the week.

Would have been handy a month ago when we played them.

Already got it done in round 4. I hope we can do it again, and I think we can!

Different game at fortress kardinia unless its crowd free i spose. Should be a cracker.

Absolutely! Plus finals and grand finals aren't played at Kardinia so if we happen to come up short that game it isn't the end of the world :)

Nup olympics for me tonight. But gws need a miracle tonight and I hope they get one.

I just want the dogs to win and just snuff out the bummers chances.

Giants coming off a 5 day break. Cats off 6.5

fair as always.

If i could take one player from another team to play for the Dees it would be Toby Greene. Perfect combination of silk and mongrel

Giants have pulled the pin on 2021. Can’t blame them. Feel the same way.

tell that to toby greene - he is a dirty player but my goodness can he play football

tips for the round ahead

  • puddy tatts
  • bluebaggers
  • tiggas?
  • pear
  • swans
  • hawks?
  • footscray
  • bears?
  • us?

as per usual, almost half i'm pretty much in two minds regarding possible outcomes - it seems to be that it has been a very even year

Exceptionally gifted but a tad too much mongrel for mine.

Ps Bt is an [censored].

Take the umpiring not being influenced by the mob and a team has a sporting chance at kardinia. Toby g helps too.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
