Hope Tmac is ok. If he’s sore Weideman can replace him.

In: JJ, Weideman?

Out: Harmes/Viney, Tmac (hopefully not)

Likely no changes, unless we’ve got injuries or the Eagles go so tall we decide we need another bigger defender - but I’m guessing we trust Rivers and Hunt to be the 4th talls.

I still think Hibberd and JJ get their way back in to the side over Bowey and Sparrow come finals but for now we go with the same group.

Salem with ice on the groins. Bowey’s promising debut could give them the incentive to rest Salem for a week now rather than keeping on managing him.

Weid for TMac if injured.

Otherwise I'd drop Harmes for Jordon, or vandenBerg even, and I'm no vandenBerg fan. Harmes 4 turnovers and 4 clangers from 76% game time. Just hurts us more, IMO, than he helps us.

No other change. Bowey holds his spot over Hibberd for at least one more week.

If Salem's even remotely sore he should absolutely not play next week - the Eagles game is critical to our season but Salem's fitness for the games beyond it is far more important. Hibberd a more than adequate replacement.

No way should Hibberd take Bowey's spot. Hibbo has been poor this year. Fumbles have cost us goals and he is still bombing it.

Bowey a much better distributor of the ball.

I'm probably wrong, but was under the impression that if a player is subbed out of a game he is automatically ruled out of the next game.  Hope I'm wrong...

Not necessarily. You need to get a clearance from the AFL to allow them to play the next week. Given we spent 12 hours flying around Australia yesterday I doubt the AFL would be so cruel as to say he didn’t have legitimate back problems.

Forced changes only. Pre-emptive LOL for any posts suggesting differently.

Nah not today, @Nasher.

A big win does not always mean a flawless 22.

I'll happily debate anyone who argues Harmes played well today.

Anyone who is calling for 3 changes after winning by just under 100 points doesn't understand team sport.

If Tmac and Salem are good to go I think it’s just one change. But I think it also depends if we want to rest players heading into finals.

Hibberd’s also shut down Dusty, put the brakes on Stringer, held Papley quiet, held Toby Greene to very few touches and not a huge impact.

He’s still our best shut down medium defender and until I see more I don’t trust Rivers or Hunt on dangerous forwards.

It’s up to Salem, May, Rivers and Hunt to handle the bulk of the distribution. And more Petty involvement ideally too.

Thanks, Jaded.  That's sounds fair enough.  (Well, then again, we ARE talking about the AFL!  Won't hold my breath...)

It's not Rivers or Hunts role to shut down dangerous forwards.

Hunt breaks lines and Rivers creates play.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
