GWS' recent "form" is a furphy.

Since beating West Coast in Round 10 they've been thrashed by Brisbane, drew with North and had a win over an inept Carlton, and have now lost to Hawthorn.

Right now, COVID aside, I'd argue Fremantle are as well placed as anyone to displace Richmond or Sydney from the top 8.

Looking at the weather radar that should be the end of the rain Perth.

They only had a few mms but it seemed to come at the start of the game.

Could be a better second half from the Eagles

GWS are such a disappointment. How is Cameron not under intense pressure? Is it because GWS only has 3 supporters?

And none of them understand the game.

One of my favourite non MFC players is Weitering. McKay gets all the accolades, but Weitering is just as good, if not better.

I know he signed a contract extension relatively recently, but I'd love him in our back 6 one day.

Looking for that sweet spot where Carlton win just enough games to retain David Teague.

it's important he stays to complete the platform for their next era of mediocrity and unfulfilled potential.

Another massive percentage booster for the Dogs. While I don’t want interstate clubs in the top 4, I’m sick of the Dogs sniffing our [censored].

It's a pity the West Coast crowd aren't present to witness this. Neck and neck with Essendon as the most entitled supporters in the league.

boy, didn't realise meth coast relied on the crowd that much.....dogs now 54 pts up and with bad goal kicking

Eagles at home in Perth without a crowd is worth 1-2 goals a quarter. With that neutralised, as just now, they’re just not all that. Good luck for the Bulldogs, and have to say I’m jealous at how well their forward line is functioning.

Just checked the doggies fixture. They've got a dream run home. Only game they could potentially drop is us only.

The rest are all bottom 8 bar Port Adelaide last round.

Yep and our ordinary percentage thanks to our inability to put teams away is going to hurt us in the run home. Finish 3rd or 4th and get sent to play Lions at the Gabba would be a complete disaster.

WCE paid the price for bringing in too many off a long spell.  Naitanui went missing in the last quarter again.  That final quarter was a demolition.

Percentage is irrelevant if we finish first or second.

But we could well finish 4th or 5th because of it. We have by far the hardest draw of the rest of the top 5 sides. We play Geelong, Port, Dogs and West Coast (away). The rest have maybe one game left against a top 5 side.

We haven't put teams away at all and I reckon it's going to potentially cost us in the long run.

I'll cop a bit for this but I honestly think the doggies are currently the best team in the comp.

I think Brisbane are better. They are more even across the ground. I think Dogs have a suspect backline. But time will tell.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
