Was always going to travel up unless his wife was in active labor. So unless Jon knows the schedule of Tom’s wife’s uterus, I think we will need to wait until tomorrow lunchtime.

Just checked the Sydney metro forecast for tomorrow. Max 19 degrees, partly cloudy, light winds. Chance of rain 10%. I'll take that any day.

Thanks Jaded, now I'm picturing Jon Ralph giving us live tweets of the time of ruptured membranes and dilation progress.

Melksham at his best is walk up start. Unfortunately, I just don't think he can get back to that any more. He's still valuable to play multiple roles throughout the game to keep the team balanced. His kicking is still an absolute weapon and I think the discipline and effort issues are behind him. He just doesn't seem able to cover the ground any more - when he chases, he looks to be running up and down on the spot.

Agree.

The football Melksham played in 2018 would make us even better than we currently are in 2021. His 45-degree angle field passes from half-back through to half-forward can rip sides open.

But he's not getting enough of the ball to make that side of his game stand out, and his defensive efforts just haven't been good enough.

I'm happy Sparrow held his spot.

Happy to see Langdon back.

Just saw on ch 7 sport that both teams were on the same flight together and the captain of the plane played the pies theme song obviously for bucks. Seriously I hope our boys covered there ears.

If it's John Ralph he'll probably tell us how many centimeters apart the contractions are, and probably monitor the wrong woman.

At least it would be better than Robbo... that scene doesn't bear thinking about.

2018 Melksham and Hogan are the only 2 players from that year I'd take over our current list I reckon.

And BT would in all seriousness ask - “is that where babies come from?”

Assuming of course that Victorian authorities allow VFL matches next weekend.

And we’re the umpires on the same flight?

If so sitting with whom?

And were they singing along with Dolly Grey?

I think that’s fair given that it’s the only time they’ll hear it this weekend… I hope for their sakes that they sung along with it.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
