Aren't these lyrics from a Sound of Music song ??

There's a prize for the first person to work out where they come from.

Had a real soft spot for the old Lions back in the day.  Perhaps it was the Norm and Len Smith connection.  Their fans always seemed really decent people, unlike some others.  I think they knew their footy too and it looks like that hasn't changed.  The Brisbane supporters are relatively small in number but substantially more intelligent than most.

Agree but most of their other payers aren't. I was at Metricon last year us V Lions and all they did was bump, push, scrag Gawn off the ball all game. Umpires did nothing so no doubt they will do same and we can only hope the Umpires do something this time.

Was at that game as well and the Lions tactics and umpires lack of action were an absolute disgrace.  Distinctly remember Charlie Cameron shepherding Max out of moving into position to mark several time in a way that was soo obvious, it's like the umpires were not even on the ground.  Bet you they would have seen it if Max had have decked little Charlie though, which it exactly what big Maxy should do if that little runt tries it out again.

They are the words of Hugh Lofting, English author of the late nineteenth - early twentieth century. He created the Doctor Dolittle Series.
I can’t accept a prize since I cheated... I screenshot your post and sent it to my son knowing that he would know the answer.
Anyways, enough on that. The question now is, what has this got to do with Fonzie? I have to know.

I sometimes forget the Mitch Robinson at the Lions is the same guy who called us bruise free. I would love for one of the boys to tackle him hard enough (but legally) that has him slow getting up

Would love any of Jack Viney, AVB, Track, Harmesy, Hibbo or May to absolutely nail him in a final in front of a huge crowd at the MCG like 2018 against Hawthorn (Mitchell) and Geelong (Selwood & Danger come to mind).

Keep your powder dry boys.

Yep, there’s never much bluster from Brisbane supporters. Not sure why - whether it’s the physical distance (although that doesn’t stop West Coast fans from chirping), the a culture of humbleness, or just the warm weather in Queensland just makes them more relaxed about life in general, but the difference is noticeable.

They’re a team that gives you no reason to hate them. Quiet supporters, humble coach, tough players. I have respect for the way they’re just quietly building. I’m looking forward to this game more than I have any other this year, should be great.

A lot of my family are old Fitzroy supporters. Even with the early 2000s flags, you don't forget that...

Looks like you've done yourself out of ONE MILLION DOLLARS then

I don't want them to hurt Max, but if they pay him a lot of attention then it could actually be a huge plus for us.  In the games where Max has taken a back step from being the go-to man, Jackson has played really well. And the Lions simply do not have a match up for Jackson - his speed, 2nd efforts and natural midfielder attributes.

And I am not sure they have a good match up for Fritsch or Kozzie.

Just re-read the T &Cs. Nowhere does it state that the winner will forfeit the prize because he/she asked a relative for help.
I’ll see you in court!

I’ve always wanted to say that. ?

Who gives  stuff what they went through? BAD ADMIN they got what they deserved in the end. Same with Swans.

Do you have any relatives named Yolanda? They'll know the answer

Brisbane supporters are Northern skiers.

Most only turn up when the team is winning.

Given how badly the Broncos are performing this year and last I suspect the Lions are getting decent media coverage in Brisbane.

Let’s just say I do. Why would a relative named Yolanda be the one who’ll know the answer?

If he could hold a mark he would be a sensation.

Much like Weid, when he runs at the ball with an opponent beside him, his hands turn to concrete.

Enjoy your enthusiasm. Perhaps entertain the idea of trimming your "biography/interests" so we can move on to the next post without trawling down through air space.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
