GWS game is the one after the ESS game and probably there will still be restrictions on crowd size in Melbs. I would prefer that to Adel in the second last round as we are sandwiched between a trip to Perth and your aforementioned trip to Mordor.

Perhaps the Hawks game? Would mean 3 consecutive weeks of travel though, so yeah the GWS makes the most sense (assuming NT let us in).

Due to circumstances out of my control I was unable to get to Melbourne earlier in the season and also missed last Friday night against the Lions but I’ve secured two tickets to Queens Birthday.
Can’t bloody wait.

I went for the A category (most expensive - was $30 for me and $70 extra ticket) which landed us in the top level of the O'Reilly stand - when I tried the other categories seemed to get me on the fence or a couple of rows back - not my preference

My son and I are in row D in SBAY25 (Clive Churchill Stand); we opted for the free member tickets. We’re just behind and slightly to the right of the goals (if I’m remembering the layout correctly).

We're back row Ladies Stand.

Me too seat 5

Were you involved with the Sydney supporter group? I'm sure we met on that great day when Brad Miller played the game of his life against BBB Hall and Cameron the Bruce snapped the winning goal!

I only went to one of those meetups at the Camelia Grove Hotel and it was a game in which we got smashed… there were plenty of those then. We may have met then?  If you want to say hello, just look for my beard a few seats along ?

We’re in seats 12 and 13.

Thanks again

Just watched Neale on AFL 360

FMD

Tears

again.

love that man. Seeing him now like this is just [censored].

my most favourite memory of Neale - at Schwartz’s pub day after 2000 granny - the tab ran out.... Neale was the bloke that got stung - had to pay for a round of about 20 drinks... no arguments just did it. Schwarta in panic stations on the phone... 30 seconds later - tab back on -carry on...

not far behind.. “take a [censored] mark Neita...”

Can MFC members still get free tickets and if so can we be giving out our barcodes to encourage people to get along and go?

I got free tickets (MFC sent emails containing bar codes), but that might be because I live in Sydney.

Wonder how many folk from Melbourne will fly up for the game?

They would have had to have left a week ago. We need to do 14 days of home quarantine if we cross the border from Vic to NSW. I would happily go to the game otherwise.

I'd consider flying in on the morning and flying out at night, but will we be allowed back and forth?

I suppose it depends on what level of restrictions the NSW Gov imposes on Victorian travellers after the end of our lockdown on Thursday night.

No apparently we need to do 14 days home quarantine if we’ve been in Melbourne after 27/05. I actually checked earlier today as I thought of going to the game

Rules may change if we come out of lockdown Thursday night, but seems doubtful.

Pretty sure if you haven't been to any exposure sights and you've had a negative covid test, you don't have to self-isolate when you get there

Yeah, it's all about what the NSW Gov says once restrictions are eased. I reckon they might allow it, because it'll add to the NSW economy, a bunch of Victorians coming up for the game.

Not according to the link I posted above.
We definitely need to isolate regardless of where we have been.
Only people exempt are those living in border communities.

Neale on 360. What can you say? What a courageous beautiful man. I was in tears. His daughter helped him when needed.

That will change once our lockdown ends. But talk is we only be able to go 25km from our homes. Sydney being a fair bit further might put the kibosh on going up.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that, but that will definitely stop us going up.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
