I want to win the premiership obviously. Anything else this year at this point will be a disappointment.

Having said that, I'd love to see us go 20-0 no matter what happens after that.

What a horrible thing to think, after all I've had to go through...

Not sure about the veracity of this data. Where's Essendon in 2000, for example? Should be somewhere in the first column.

I think it’s a column for teams that didn’t win the flag that year.

Nope, this is a list of undefeated teams who did not win the flag that year.

This list doesn’t include 1956 when we won the first 13 games of the season and won the flag.

...because the list only shows streaks by teams that did not go on to win the flag that year.

Thanks for clarifying...

They can take this years Melbourne entry off it then...

So my take from this is; around 30% of teams who achieve this go on to win the flag!

If you told me at the start of the season we have a 30% chance of winning the Cup at this stage, I would be a bit skeptical.

I'm enjoying each and every win.

I dont think we are the best team, but i dont think its fully clicked for us yet either.

What I am really enjoying is that this seems to be it. We look like a team who will have a successful run for a number of years.

Sure beats talking to all of you on here about who we are going to take in the draft and how good we will be in 5 years time.

Enjoy it!

They've been under the blowtorch for the whole year.

I was going to start a topic called "The Streak" but i thought better of it.

Just enjoy the ride everybody.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
