Started to come good about Round 13/14 in the hub last season.

Realized  he could no longer Just one pace medium and do a funky 25m kick yo be valuable to the team.

Started impacting game with pace and urgency plus 45/50m lucks That still  found teammates!!!

Saw it with my own eyes vs GWS when he starred at the Gabba with Langers and Spargo and Rivers on the Members side of the ground  getting us up by 4 pts. In that epic game.

Ever since has been  A standard and I prefuctedvtjis in my posts pre season as one of our improvements along with Spargsy and Tommo down back.

Also said that Jacko Kossie and Riv had huge upside in their second year!

Some had criticised this view but I stood firm on our improvement Which I think has even surpassed my expectations!

Lets hope it's a permanent standard as we all love the stars shining each week plus the contract signingS of our Mostly A and a couple of B+ graders this season

Long may it live well beyond 2021!!!

I might be in the minority here but I feel like Salem hasn't improved greatly this year - I just feel like he has a better team around him so what he does comes off more / gets noticed.

I feel like Salem has been doing what he is doing now for years and has been criminally underrated.

I'm told it's actually a rash that you can get a cream for....

The only thing that would make this AA22 even better would be to have no pies players and all of Treloar, Stephenson and Phillips in the team

No you have said this before and  I don't buy one word if it.

Go to his stats and also see a replay or two and his urgency and impact on our defence and attacking options either ball in hand.

Yep!

According to Gerard Healy, Kozzie is the no. 1 , and the no. 2 and no. 3 small forwards have the same name - Daylight!

Speaking of Kossi, can't believe that he hasn't been nominated for Goal of the Year for his 4 or 5 touch effort against the Roos. Much better than the humdrum 3 they chose

If TMac can maintain his form then he'll have to be in contention. Other than 1 poor outing (against the Giants i think it was) he's been playing to a very high level all year. It would be some effort if he managed to get selected.

Disagree. The defensive side of his game has improved greatly. In previous years he was a liability defensively. This year he’s been much better in one on one contests. He’s now able to stop air balls coming in, and then mop up all by himself. It’s a thing of beauty to see his new confidence turning his own defending into attack. In previous years he needed to be fed the ball. Not anymore, and it shows in his stats. Offensively, he’s moving the ball quicker and taking riskier longer kicking options. This is probably the result of playing in a better team and options to kick to though.

He’s having an awesome season. I’ve been critical of him in the past, as I though he was capable of more for a player his age, and he’s now producing what we’d all hoped for. He should be All Australian this year. Gun.

Salem picks himself. Class above this year. Had some $ on him for the Brownlow. Crazily priced at 151-1.

May very stiff. Killed Buddy, killed Hawkins until Hawkins nearly killed him. Kozzie will be there year end.

What are the green colours?

Best coach at the moment is...???

Goodwin. Nice.

how about all those small fwds huh? No one below 6 foot. Insulting to the skill and persistence needed to be a good small fwd. a completely essential role in the AFL.

where is KOZZI!!?

thats right, still no happy

It is for this reason I don't care about All Australian teams. It should be a team but instead it is about fitting individuals into 22 spots with little consideration of the role of each position.

How good would it be if blokes like Charlie Spargo with 6 possessions, but play their role to perfection, made the rolling AA team in a given week because they were the best small forward position player, not because they kick 5 goals or are a star mid that rests forward.

Maysie and Kosi say Hi.

Tmac continuing to ask questions, could be a different story come seasons end.

SEN took Salem out of their team this week lol.   Are they on drugs?

And how can our historic backline only have one defender?  May, Salem and Lever should all be in

The decision is even stranger when you see why. They wanted another "key defender" (Harris Andrews) even though the team already had Weitering, Lever and Aliir.

I must be watching different games imo he has been great ever week and rarely wastes a kick.

Your mistake is taking any notice of sen LDC.

You're quite right, of course. I learned years ago to ignore Mark Robinson (along with many others). I now must remember to do the same with SEN.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
