I don't think I am revealing too much by telling you it is significantly more than $900 per year.

Yep. Even I earn more than that.

Hopefully Jacko and Kozzie get with the program and will commit long term at some stage

I get the sentiment, but they are not at the stage in their career where they would sign a long term deal for the money we would want to commit. Petracca is a known commodity - the stuff flags are made of. Dogga and Kosi are babies that are showing an amazing amount but would not be offered near to what they would think is their value until they show it consistently with healthy bodies.

7 news reporting a 7 year deal guesstimating at $900K per year is expected “imminently”

Mind you, it is Tom Browne

Figures are thrown around I assume hed have a pretty substantial chunk of the MFC ASA included in this deal, and he deserves it.

Pies supporters have turned their attention to Weideman now.  At least they are being a bit more realistic this time around.

We won't let Weid go, i'm sure he's frustrated, but i would be very shocked if he wasn't very firmly in our long term plans

also wtf would anyone want to go to Collingwood?

He does have a solid family connection to Collingwood. Still tho, yuck!

Be a very silly time to jump off the Dees Bandwagon i reckon. he might watch a few of his mates winning medals while he is going through a rebuild haha

If he doesn't play, it won't be our choice.

He will, it's all about building consistency, from what i've heard, he's very clear on that too, the club wants a block of consistent form of 4-5 weeks of him just dominating,

the form of Tom McDonald has been a bit of a curve ball but Weid is too good to stay out for long.

What a difference a few wins makes, not only to resign, but for life and at slight unders, shows how much of a clubman he is.

who would want to go to cfc to be smashed as the lone key forward

gotta love the way the club is rolling out one key contact announcement per week or two ... no coincidence in my view and should help get memberships ticking along nicely

Tom Browne's report pretty much was based around other clubs saying they've asked about Petracca and his manager has said 'he's not interested'.

Personally I reckon there's probably a lot more to do to complete a deal. Petracca will want to stay and the club will have a rough ball park of the money he's worth but after that there's so many factors on how to get the deal done.

The Dogs right now are negotiating with Bont who is 1.0001 to stay and to get a huge deal, but they are working through all sorts of factors with the structure.

There's a long way between Petracca indicating he's happy to stay and the club indicating a ball park figure and everything getting signed and sealed.

Really DS

Your gut feelings are way off the mark and there was info last week that an offer was very close.

Obviously it's not as complicated as you thought.

Trac is not a complicated person and knows now what he wants.

All power to him He deserves his contract snd the spoils. A boy has grown to a much more mature man in about 3 years.

We are ready to embrace our new found attitudes and selflessness and ability.

Results  on the field have never been more important now we have set strong standards and group ideals.

Maybe  all the stars are aligning in 2021 and a long wait For success could be nearing its end in the next season or two.

Go Dees

Good.

Are you posting the word “Good” for no apparent reason every 10 or so minutes, or am I just imagining it?

Quite possibly I’m imagining it. Been up since 5:30am. That, coupled with the whole Fritta sitch, and the fact that I’m easily confused, makes a compelling argument for me to go to sleep.

I don't understand your question.  To try and assist you, the figure of $900 k came from Ch7 report.

I'm just telling you that it is significantly more than that.

Adonski, you are one of about 5 other Posters that displayed some level of doubt about my original post along with HardTack, Rod Grinter Squad, CHF and Robbie57.

I never quite understand why other Posters express that type of doubt/negativity.  Is it envy or a feeling of inadequacy that some posters just have NO level of inside contacts?

I expressed frustration at the offer being leaked, bit different than questioning your integrity.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
