Ticketing for Rd 05 vs Hawthorn

Hi Daisy

I think I have it worked out.

One option was an upgrade was $0 when I added it to a child

It is a shame I have bought my ticket but cannot see how this system is workable.

Happy that others seem to have no problem but it's like trying to booking finals tickets for me.

good for you

it's certainly a confusing interface that easily leads one down the wrong path.

i lost 2 hours i'll never recover

let us know if you got your $0 tickets (by now you will probably end up on top level ponsford)

p.s. with multiple barcodes just select only 1 for each barcode

I am going to that part. It shows the $0 options. You select them and they ask for payment. It's exactly the way JTR describes except for the end result!

Does it actually require you to make a payment, or just click the payment icon? You are making a payment of $0, so there is no issue with selecting this.

Yep, same. It wasn't hard. I really don't understand what all the confusion is about.

Normally the process is very smooth.

Today I selected 'Melbourne allocation 1', thinking well yep, I am a H&A reserved seat member that makes sense (and it is our replacement game), and then it told me I owe $207 (5 tickets). So I tried again under general admin, and all went smoothly, until it died and said 'something went wrong with your payment' (which was $0?!). It took 3 tries for it to work today, whereas normally I am in and out in 2 minutes.

Anyway, my beef is that there is absolutely no reason to be allocated seats on level 4 behind the goals for a game that will barely attract 40,000 people.

I don't think I'll bother going to away games this year, although I pay an arm and a leg to get free entry to them. I prefer to watch on  TV than be stuck up in the heavens behind the goals.

This is a joke. Some one txt me their seat and it came up with the seat I had previously booked ??????? Then shared it so got tickitek mesage but you can't do anything with the message and my original txt from tickitek disappeared from my phone ??????.

I need a very strong drink.

Just heard on radio there is a chance of going 100% capacity by Anzac Eve, all depending on trialling some new format this weekend with the ticketing agencies. Health Department to make a call as early as next Monday possibly.

i tried that too, but no luck. i've just wasted over an hour going backwards and forwards

what a [censored] joke

anyone got through to club re this?

I got through to someone at the club daisy and he assured me scanning junior tickets won’t be a problem as the MCG staff are well aware and understanding of the ticketing problems encountered by supporters.

the new system isn't rocket science and is being trialed for a couple of games this weekend.

All it is that if you buy five tickets you have to put in contact details for all five and not just yourself as the buyer

My mate was buying tix as a non-member just now.  selected a seat on ground level on the wing - $60 each! I dont think we can expect many people to be at this game

he then selected general reserve and got seats behind the goal for $27. it said only one seat per purchase but he bought two and it let him

Strange all round

yes, i'm aware of using junior tickets (1-5 yo). i used it round one so grandkids could sit with me on lvl2

didn't help me though for this away game as reserved means nothing, everything is "reserved general admission"

Yep no joy for me today, tried to purchase GA with my recriprical game entitlement with 2 juniors and want to charge $90, should be 10 bucks. Will try again tonight

you have to use "reserved ga". it's right at bottom of list (after you select "melbourne allocation 1"

Yep. Being a 71 year old junior seems to be the only way I can get the reserved seat I've already paid for :)

And 70 yr old Mrs B will be pleased she is attending with junior status

yes but having a reserved seat doesn't work for "compensation away game". it's all "melbourne allocation"/ "reserverd general admission",

Oh sorry...I was sure I didn’t select the 1-5 option. There’s not one of us under 5 so I thought it could be an issue.

Agree. Not our normal seats but reserved in the Melbourne allocation. Still have to be a jnr to avoid paying again.

my guess is no as they want to maintain control of which parts of the ground are opened.

As MFC crowds are in the main around 30-40k I foresee a lot of closed levels for the year.

Hope I'm wrong

i didn't have to (after trying numerous wrong options for 1hr45min)

finally got 3 seats in "melbourne allocated 1", "reserved general admittance" (all other options ended up costing $$s)

Any idea why they closed every level 4 area aside from the MCC on one of Melbourne's wettest days of 2021 so far, last Sunday?

They open up L4 if there is more demand for seats than there are seats available on L1.

There wasn't, unfortunately.

As L4 tickets are available this week, I assume it'll be a bigger crowd than vs Cats

Other than the "only one seats per purchase" and buying two, everything else is normal.

The L1 tickets on the wing are $60, which is what they are for that particular area (bays M8 to M15)

The tickets your friend got for $27 are general admission, which is also normal for any GA seating section.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
