Welcome to Demonland: Majak Daw

You have to be joking.

I for one wish the guy well. If he gets a guernsey would he be the first first generation African to play for us ? I think Heritier Lumumba is second generation through his Congolese father.

Demons hand AFL lifeline to Daw

Door open for discarded Roo after receiving invitation to train with Demons

I’m not sure what to make of this. My recollection of Daw’s form on comeback was that he struggled. This is virtually a second lifeline and he has also had personal issues in his life of late. Things won’t be easy for him given the physical and mental barriers he has to overcome. It’s almost a flashback to last year and Harley Bennell but at least the club is thinking outside the square.

no no and no we dont need another injury prone player may as well bring back HB for another chance

Majak can certainly ruck and can play on both ends of the ground as well and is  proven.  A  great backup for  Max Gawn  if needed An insurance if Maxy has an injury, Hope he makes the list he would be a great asset.

Sorry soupy but he cant do that if he could nth would have kept him

I’m not sure the club will do much better than Majak as a backup option - for all the posters here saying no, who should we go for instead?

I wish him all the best with his second chance, hope he grabs it by the ears.

Exactly.

So you want bring to the club a player who has injury problems ,personal issues and was delisted by his employer, does not look good a resume

I like it! Great Backup for Max offers defence and forward options and at little cost.3 spots available DAW , WIZ JUNIOR and DEAKYN SMITH to take these opportunities.?

“But for now, he will link up with the Demons on Monday, as he hopes to win a spot on their playing list.

“As part of the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period we have offered Majak Daw an opportunity to train with us for the remainder of pre-season,” List manager Tim Lamb told the club’s website.”

Does that mean that the team is able to train on Monday despite the lockdown?

If tennis is an “essential service” in Victoria then so is footy.

Don,t get carried away he would not be a best 22 fd he is an insurance for the big fella. He can play it is my opinion and would be a good back up and is a big strong boy.  I am sure that others would agree.

If Clint Biscuit can overcome issues of delistment from Geelong and survive then Majak May be motivated to overcome his.

Different bloke differnent situation

With Hore, Weed and Brown done a one year deal would be worth while. If one of our other talls gets injured we would be knackered. So Majak is worthwhile insurance.

I think T Mc can turn his form around this year but not a sure thing. Jackson looks the goods but is still very young.

How many spots do we have? Farmer to fill one.

interesting post earlier Re oscar and correct why dump oscar who has no baggage to bring and employ a bloke whohas truck loads of baggage

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
