This adds a bit more juice to the story and calls out the clubs leaders...

I must admit Buckley's silence has been deafening.

Good to see some heat on Scott Pendelbury finally.   He has been there longer than anyone besides Eddie and is suddenly Mr Invisible when the [censored] hit the fan.

well he did sign the team apology statement and for all we know he might have been instrumental in it

we don't know what he has done or is doing within the club

he's not obliged to publicly say anymore. people will judge him either way

he has always come across as a very polite and considerate person, so no need to pass any cheap criticism on him

Buckley is the one who needs to stand up...

He's a great media performer, has all the right words to say, comes across as well balanced and honest but on this it's crickets.

From the article - This is a tweet from Shae McNamara.

Nick Maxwell, You were his brother, for real. He lived with you and you named your dog after him because it’s black. Your silence in choosing your self-preservation with the club is really disappointing.

so Shae is potting everyone and like the report he's very lacking in any evidence or details. Its hard to judge when the only thing it seems mentioned is the chimp nickname which has been debated everywhere.

I hate the pies and Eddie, but what on earth is he actually talking about ?

It’s quite easy to work out what he is talking about.
Crystal Clear actually

Ok Dieter I don't mind that you disagree with me but don't tell me I don't know how racism works because I am a wog as well and I copped racism all through school.

I've also worked on a number of Indigenous Communities in the NT and am proud to count maybe 20 to 30 Aboriginal people as good friends or at least solid acquaintences so I know very well how racism works.

A wog? But surely if you are using the term yourself, that means you don't mind it.

I'm glad that's settled.

All depends on the context & who said it. It could result in a laugh, a punch up or nothing at all. I generally didn't like it but I didn't worry about it too much.

Actually the new pommy kids copped it worse than the wogs.

True.  I don't want to be part of the pile on, lord knows its already bad enough.  It is just surprising he has not fronted the media yet, well maybe he has and I missed it.

Actually its wise of him or anyone else to avoid the media, they will just twist words to feed their narrative anyway.

I imagine ours and other clubs pasts are similar and man it’s hurtful to read these kinds of stories. I really hope with the guidance of Wrecker and Jetta there are better support networks for indigenous players and staff and our players are better educated.

So someone who was at the club, in the playing group is not taking sense? Lol sure!

The best way to deal with this is burn the joint to the ground and round up anyone ever involved with the club and put them on trial.

Perhaps not a surprise that it comes from an American.

“Hilarity” doesn’t quite work here. Leon nails it in his article.

Leon Davis' story is in many ways even more uncomfortable reading. I'm surprised we haven't heard more about it.

So his team mates filled out his player profile for him did they? That sounds familiar. When Leon's parents called a meeting with the club about it, Leon, the victim of the racism, was ostracized by the playing group for daring to speak up.

No wonder young Indigenous players felt they couldn't say anything or complain about their treatment. There was no support at all, only the possibility of more harm directed towards them.

Shameful.

My Humble Apologies.

I'll check my white privilege.

Yep-still non-existent.

Just read the usual suspects posts here for an idea.
If you can stomach the santimony.

I can understand when people get bit tired of Lumumba...he may be seen as a merchant by many but it doesn't mean his point/s are not valid.

When someone like Davis comes out with like comments surely all of us would take a bit more notice.

Call it woke or another silly name, but I would think maybe things are a bit crook.

  • Welcome to Demonland: Steven King

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
