ffs, are we going to keep up this mfcss petracca hysteria running for another 2 years?

It's all Jesse Hogan's fault. Or maybe Jack Watts.

If they were still on the list, they'd continue to be the focus of this nonsense freeing us up to debate more important things like whether Petracca needs to lose weight.

Trac is still contracted until 2022. Even if he unexpectedly requests a trade next year i expect Josh Mahoney and co to take a leaf out of the Doggies book and hold him to his contract.

If he did request a trade and we reluctantly had to do a deal what would it take? De Goey plus a first rounder??? ?

If he improved even 1% on his 2020 output and was contracted for a further year we'd genuinely request 3x top ten picks. Might go close to getting it too.

Yes your  right there l was lead to believe at the time.  Someone very close to me introduced me to his brother Julian who manages a few players at different clubs and one of them is at Melbourne. at the time l just assumed the way he was talking that he managed him.  That is  all l can say now.

Yep l do worry if we are good enough to hold onto our best players. Can we afford to keep them ? Time will tell.

His brother Julian petracca is Jake  lever’s manager and he also is Jayden shorts manager

My view is that the club will renew Christians'  contract mid season so the doubters will have another 4 years of agony wondering

if!

Did I say he had committed to the pies did I? Can you actually show this direct quote? You're the only [censored] that mentioned anything remotely of Petracca leaving. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.

Go back and actually read what I was replying to. It actually had nothing to do with Petracca at all but more so that Collingwood will continue to bring in players regardless of what went on during the trade period.

You embarrassed yourself over the trade period when you threw several darts but didn't land any and now you're embarrassing yourself with this post.

Wtf are u smoking matey? I threw zero darts, merely mentioned small bits with a major caveat attached. Only thing I said was def was BBB and he was. Didn’t say CP was pies committed? Then WHY do the silly post at all u silly bugger. Don’t make me go back and quote you. The entire post was moronic so maybe move on haha

How could the Pies possibly afford him?

They just got rid of two very good players because of cap issues.

Petracca wouldn’t leave for less than 750k per year

You're weird unit Nudge. You quoted a post from 2 months ago that I actually forgot it existed..

The moment has gone.

IMO Pies just offloaded a whole heap of $. Not due to clearing space. Actually due to being well over the cap hence the bargain trade deals for Treloar Stephenson and Phillips. No doubt they’ll be into Petracca. I think Petracca is built for finals footy and if we don’t start making them then he’s a risk to leave. But are Collingwood in a better position? I don’t think so. Not unless they end up absolutely nailing the 2020 draft.

Play finals at the very least otherwise we risk losing him. We can’t expect an A-grader like Trac to rang around waiting for us to get our act together when he would grace any team in the league.

Not much point worrying about it in pre-season though. Let’s see how the season pans out before fretting about his contract.

Personally think its more then that. I don't think making finals is an acceptable level. If we make it and bow out first week then the risk of losing players is still high.

We've got the list to be top 4. It's all up to players and coaching staff to make that happen.

Is understood to be very close friends with Maynard and would love to play his footy with him.

Don’t care if he’s friends with Kanye or Guy Sebastian.

I agree. Finals may not be enough.

I guess we all have extra reason to hope that the pies flop this year.

Yes l agree.  However IMO Petrac even Oliver would have to play in a consistently high level as expected for us to have a better       chance of playing finals and finishing at least top 4 .

They are the A graders and if we cannot make finals with both of them  sound then l would hate to think  Bda.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
