Interesting that around 50% of the votes have the Saints losing tonight, but just 10% the Doggies losing on Sunday...

So it largely rides on tonight's game, and on us following it up with the Dons tomorrow...

Tonights game has 1 team with massive finals experience (GWS)  vs a team with none (Saints)  - with Zak Jones out.

Thats what I'm hanging my hopes on why GWS get.

This is the sequel.

Like godfather two a rare example of the sequel being better.

This time without my sarcasm, I do believe that 2021 will be better.

If we can pick up another decent full forward and an expeeinced crumbrr then things should fall into place.

Weid still needs to improve substantially but my hope is is increased due to the pergormace of our backline.

Our mids seem to be functioning much better.

Trac has finally gone to another level. The great revruiting of Jackson, Langdon and Rivers should really pay off.

3 more quality players and things should really start happening.

Like Covid, we have stemmed the worst and we as Goody would say:

Moving in the right direction.

We will win tmrw but as others have mentioned it will be too late.

We must be strong and take a sharp axe to the list.

Players like Trac, May, Max, Langdon, Oliver   Hibberd, Salem and Lever deserve as much support they can get.

Look it is quite simple. One must follow the MFCSS doctrine in these circumstances.

Saints lose by about 26 points and demons win by about 23 points and we end up being .01 % behind the saints. All is resting on the freo dogs game. They draw.

Demonlanders have us at 70% chance to miss out on finals... so 30% reckon we're a chance... ?

About 29% more than I would have expected. So much negativity for no reason whatsoever.

Not surprising. I'm not relying one bit on Freo winning.

Beveridge is a fantastic coach who motivates his players in the crunch games and there's no way known the Dogs will lose to Freo.

Freo have been a pretty good story of late but the facts are they're an ordinary side that gives effort week in week out. They'll have a red hot crack against the Dogs but will lose in a low scoring scrap.

Let’s just remind ourselves of the prize on offer this weekend - basically the opportunity to go over to Perth and probably get smashed by the eagles in an elimination final .

this is quite different to 2017 we hadn’t made finals in 11 years and we had half a chance to actually see our team play finals at the G - that’s not the case now (with the exception of a few that might be lucky to see a final live)

id love for us to make it but I’m not emotionally invested or attached to the results this weekend like I was 3 years ago or in 2018.

at the moment we are a middle of the road side , my biggest concern is that much of the playing group will be satisfied with just making the 8 , we have a lot of improving to do given the talent on this list

We had to beat the Pies in the last round and Carlton who were on top had to beat the Bulldogs who were 5th and we were in on percentage. The game was at Princess park so you'd reckon they were good things but Carlton in there arrogance only pulled their finger out in the last quarter. We took care of the Pies after Wearmouth knocked out Laurie Fowler. The Blues just failed to overtake the Dogs when a late shot hit the post, the game ending in a draw and we missed out by 2 points.

The prize is an opportunity to knock the Weagles out of finals on their home deck... That would make me very happy, and go some way to atoning to the humiliation out west at the end of 2018.

Agreed - but our form over the past month feels a long way away from that, I just see it like Essendon going over there last year in the elim final , albeit Optus stadium having maybe only half of it’s normal snakepit vibe with the crowd reductions

I was at that last match. We beat the pies at vicpark but other games didn't go our way to make finals.

The upside was it resulted in the Pies winning their first evet wooden spoon. Not much consolation though.

Monday’s Herald Sun headline after the game wad  "Demons spoon feed Magpies".

The great Laurie Fowler was knocked out cold in the first quarter.

I was there that day as well. We needed top of the ladder Carlton to beat the Dogs who were 6th. We hang around after the game to find out who had won. They put the goals up first 15 each then slowly wound the points up 17 for Carlton and 14 no 15 no 16 no 17for the dogs, It"s a draw and we missed out. The Collingwood crowd went mad cheering and we went home on the train feeling like we had lost that day. I have hated Collingwood and Carlton ever since.

Footscray and Carlton drew at the western oval. Had carlton won by a point then we would have made it. Thats why I think the dogs and freo will draw this weekend.

I've chosen the obvious choices, Saints really should be beating GWS and as for the Dogs, I can picture Jesse Hogan having a shot from directly in front to win the game after the siren and missing.

We have to do our job, and just beat Essendon. I think they may come out with a bit of fight, they seem to love nothing more than turning things on for us even when they play pure $h!t against everyone else.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
