You need to be careful.  I'm fairly sure it was Olisik that was HUGE on Oliver right from the get go.  He copped a lot of criticism with people wanting Parish.

That said all I'm really saying is evaluate the idea, not who delivers it.

You know what they say about broken clocks…

Who here would do this

Jackson to Freo for Cerra and Pick 8

Pick 8 and 34 (plus change) to Richmond for picks 11 + 16

Pick 16 to Collingwood for Maynard

Gunston as free agent

In: Cerra, Maynard, Gunston, Pick 11 (Mac Andrew)

Out: L. Jackson, P34

If I was drunk or post - lobotomy then yes, absolutely

Would only entertain if we knew Jackson wants out otherwise sign him up for life.

Jackson is going to be thrown the kitchen sink (especially if he wins the rising star) from Eagles and Freo.

Love the kid and no doubt want him at the club but I have a feeling he will be going home in the future.

In my view Maynard does not add value for money.  Saying he is a replacement for Hibbo is misplaced, Hibbo isn't getting a game with both Hunt and Tomlinson out.  I'm a believer that Tomlinson can fit with May, Lever and Petty.

We clearly have a tight salary cap.  We have Jackson, Pickett, Rivers, Sparrow, Jordon, Petty, Spargo and Bowey who were in our 23 on Saturday and are 22 or under.  They will need TPP space and I don't think our oldies are on big coin.

Maynard is not a priority I don't think.

Certainly not at any sort of premium price anyway.

When he’s 33

pat naish was a target of the pies last year so maybe they sign him up as a DFA this season, surprising that the tigers only announced the one list change, maybe they feel their other OOC players have trade value? but surely naish would've too

Wow lol haven’t been here all day and more posts about me then actual trades.

Would have thought more posters would have balls to post up interesting scenarios then prioritise sitting on sidelines posting pot shots like 15 year olds on Facebook.

That said I did hear that Freo have asked the question re Jackson, hence that scenario.

Thanks Baghdad, on the money there mate with Oliver. Can also include Pickett to that list also who everyone screamed had go-home factor all over him.

A premiership and the lure of more will help.

There are interesting scenarios and ridiculous scenarios. Usually the ones that involve half a dozen players and ten pick swaps are ridiculous.

Should have another crack at Jamie Elliott, 29 years of age. Wouldn't cost a lot in terms of picks due to his age & durability concerns. Obviously risk involved, but imagine him & Kozzie running amuck?

Why would we want Elliott goes missing too often and is old we already have Spargo and then we have Bedford and Chandler waiting in the wings. It's a no from me.

Comparing Elliott with Bedford & Chandler? Right...

He can replace ANB who is probably in our 20-22 player range

No what I'm saying given a chance they could perform.

I'd rather Neal-Bullen Elliott has no defensive ability at all.

I'm on the Maynard bandwagon but the rest don't really excite me.

What kind of a feeling? Probably just indigestion

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
