"Charmed life" Melksham managed to stay in the side.

Other than that ... yes, let's turn over these [censored]ers and see who's prepared to give a red hot go.

They're all here on Demonland to check.

Jennings news was on here well before reported. I posted it in this thread on 3rd July, was reported in the media 12 August.

I started the Jackson thread by mentioning we had spoken to him, that hadn't been reported.

Please remove that other info mate, those people wouldn't want that put here. DM me if you like.

Yeah fair enough on the Jennings ones, you did call it early.

But the Jackson article did report this Nev, already that we were one of the clubs that were keen. So we already knew that Melbourne had interviewed him going of the article you posted.

Greater Western Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle are among the clubs who have been linked to Jackson with top-10 picks and are glad the 18-year-old decided last year to give away a promising basketball career to focus on his football."

Yes, the article says we're one of the clubs linked to him, I put it in there that we had specifically interviewed him.

Not claiming it as earth shattering news, but that info had not been put out yet.

Look, it's up to you, either I've heard some stuff or there's been some amazingly lucky guesses.

Probably the best lot of changes we have made this year, however Smith should not be in the squad, and he should be in the forward line if selected. Unfortunately Goodwin has made these changes too late in the year when he really needed to make them earlier in the year, his biggest fault is that he is too slow to make change. It gives me relief to see Jones, Spargo, Wagner and Omac out of the side,  4 massive spuds [I still love Jones though]

I'd reckon that Smith will get some forward time - at least he made the squad. There are some possibilities here - a few swapsies here and there after the starting siren and a few swings of players to take advantage of any options or opportunities as these arise. If we're lucky, a few different moves may well eventuate ... pace and height, run and carry is evident. Keep Viney out of the midfield, he is a utility now with attitude. The Beast must demonstrate mongrel against Freo.

It's not about you Nev!!

Package himself and Brother Oscar of for whatever you can get for them.!

Tom is contracted until end of 2022, on pretty hefty coin. No one is going to take him on that basis. He has zero trade currency.

Whos playing on Walters ???

Best match up is Lockhart

We've said this the last two weeks with Butler and Papley, both of whom went on to have little impact on the contest.

Their players don't worry me - it's ours that do.  When we're turning it over and not working hard enough it doesn't matter who they have, as we will hand it back to them in a platter.

Agreed. We [censored] ourselves under pressure and turn over too easily. Bad disposal skills are our icing on the cake

Smith by the looks of it..

Goodwin is struggling can’t fix the same issues with this team for 2 seasons now, 7 changes understand 3 injuries, end of season & still can’t get the team right

Don’t forget 4 day break

Pruess has to be FF, otherwise we are back to our one key Forward which worked so well for us in the first 6-8 rounds.  do they learn?

Bulldogs tonight put massive pressure on us, must win all 3 remaining games now or we are done.

We are already done

If we win remaining 3, we finish 6th. we drop 1 we're 9th.

i also think we are cooked, but hang onto a small glimmer as per Demon tradition.

100% sure we knock off Freo and GWS then lose to Ess by 10 points to end the season.

Look guys the good thing is - if we play like soft [censored] like last week - we'll loose.

And after a few ramifications and ruminifications across D/land, (that's short for scotch & wine) we'll all come to peace and declare this was a non event of a season.

If we beat Freo, even by a point, we'll declare the team flag favourites.

The show must go on....

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
