Hhhmmmmm punting it long to the hotspot ain’t exactly hitting a target Wise. Gawn was free for a good 15 seconds prior to that too.

Hey, hey... he kicked it, we marked it.  That's hitting a target my friend!  No need to get technical...

Melk to the other wing pls!  Much more value kicking inside 50

Our forwards insights so far

What an [censored] post!

Good goal Weid

That is why Melksham is in the team.  Took the right option and hit the target with a good kick.

Just needs to get more of it!

Straight kicking is good footyyyyyyy

Fabulous four goals.

Forward efficiency is EVERYTHING

?

4 goals from 4 set shots.

Great start from the Dees!

Goodwins boys have started well... ;)

Just need to play like this for every game for the rest of the year and premiership

Most unlike Melbourne!

Kicking straight, hitting targets i50, opposition innacurate

Please keep it up!

First 10 minutes were worrying.  Saints were all over us.

And then we steadied.  Our backline is working superbly and we are generating some excellent run off half back through the wings.  Langdon has been immense.

And Trac is switched on tonight.  The man is on fire!

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
